I think Stephens right, its only if it goes up in price that you only pay your cheaper preorder price. For example if an item you preorder at £10 was to go down in price to £5 just for a day or two then it goes up to £15 for the rest of the time until release its not like you'd then only then have to pay the £5 cos it happened to have been reduced for that short period of time.

Ants right in a way.

The pre order guarantee works on the price on day of release. If its up at £10 and you pre ordered at £8 then you pay £8. If on its release date its £7 then you pay £7.

It takes no notice of varaible prices prior to release.

So cancelling and reordering those DVDs may be a waste of time, but it can't hurt. Oddly, Christmas Evil has increased to £9, so I left that one alone!

No, the lower you can get your price guarantee the better.

I never pre order really early to avoid all this messing about. I just check prices occasionally, then take the plunge when its a price i'm happy with.

No you do have to keep reordering if the price drops since you pre-ordered otherwise you'll end up just paying your own pre-order price if it goes up before release. Unless of course it drops in price for when it releases in which case you will pay the lower price

That's okay because I preordered Christmas Evil when it was £8.

Interesting to know that, about the Amazon 'price guarantee' thing

I have only just started to use them, and order things on line. It's good to know that I might get a little surprise when my orders are sent
