Well I thought before going to wild on random postings I'd share a little bit about myself and my love of horror.

So to start of with my name is Sharon Lynette, I'm female as my photo hopefully shows? and I am 30 years old and living with my parents. Don't worry I have lived away from home I'm just attempting to save money so I can actually have my own house and renting was just stupid. Saving money for a house does not in any way stop me from spending my money on dvds, I'm an impulsive buyer.

When I was tiny ghosts and ghouls did not appeal to me. I used to threaten to kill myself when I was younger I was so scared of seeing a ghost (dramatic much?) but I grew out of it. In my teen years I started to watch more and more horror, I remember watching Ghostwatch when it first aired, not completely but flicking back and forth, it really scared me but the fact it listed ghosts played by actors at the end calmed me down and made me realise how much I had enjoyed the experience at 13 I purchased a copy of Psycho on video and even though it scared me I just wanted more.

The next serious turning point was when I made a new friend on the bus 18, she lived on the same road, was older but we had similar tastes. I would spend my nights round hers watching the random horror she had picked up in charity shops. I was exposed to a lot in her cramped, crowded room, stacked with books, videos, games and the odd rat - caged of course, the smell of rats reminds me of a good time.

The internet was another source for me, I remember purchasing a copy of a couple of films that at the time were still not available, one was Texas Chainsaw Massacre but I can't remember the other, that must have been 15 years ago!

My tastes haven't changed much, I pretty much like all horror apart from big budget releases and remakes, well most remakes. I love films about the supernatural, Campy b-movies, sleazy porno type, Giallo, Asian horror, over the top ridiculous, slasher and any classic British horror.

I just wish I had more money, I could easily purchase a dvd a day.

Anyway I'll leave you with a photo of my young self and my Granddad who to me looks like he could have been a horror legend.

Your horror related film tastes (and impulsive buying nature) sounds very similar to mine.

...And that must be the Cushing-esque Grandfather you mentioned before - he does indeed look very similar to the legend himself.

Glad you took the time to share more about your horror-loving history!

You watch great films, read great books, listen t' some excellent tunes (Black Lace, really?). It's only the Black Lace that tells me that y're not a future version of me who was rejuvenated (a lot), had a sex change and extensive de-uglifying surgery and travelled back in time t' get a new slant on life, t' universe 'n' ev'rythin'...

(posh writin' voice now) Hi ham very honoured too meet you.

Oh yeah, thanks f' t' likes
