I’ve just finished this one, as I said I don’t buy many physical books anymore, they take up a lot of room, especially 800 page fantasy epics like the ones Brandon Sanderson writes! This is on my kindle, The Well of Ascension, book 2 of the Mistborn Saga

@Justin - Those Japanese ghost stories...what's the prose like. Is it heavy going as English from previous centuries can be or is it quite easy to read. I'd imagine the translation to English could be something else. |

They’re written by English speaking writers who spent time in Japan during the early 1900s it’s not hard to read at all actually.

Thanks. I hope when you've read it, whenever that may be, it's not like watching a film is it, that you'll say if it was good or not. Recommendations for ghost stories are always more than welcome round these parts. |

As well as being an extremely funny and quickwitted TV performer on shows like Would I Lie to You, it is clear by the opening and introduction to Unruly that David Mitchell is very knowledgeable and passionate about British history. As I studied modern history for A-level, he has a lot to teach me about aspects of history I haven't studied, and it's clear from the introduction that it will be accessible, humorous, and informative.

All the Pretty Horses is a brilliant book by the late, great, Cormac McCarthy. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Also, I thought The Road and No Country for Old Men were both brilliant, though I wish I'd read them before watching the films. I haven't read Blood Meridian; it's been on my wish list for a long time.
