Shaun of the Dead at 7. Is it really a better horror film than The Exorcist (11) Jaws (10) or Nosferatu (8). Not to mention The Wicker Man (14) and American Werewolf in London (19).

Again i wouldn't begrudge it a place in the top 50 but not higher than The Fog (21), or Suspiria (23) and that's just for starters.

What do you think?

Yes it is. Much better. The others you mention, no. I'm surprised The Exorcist isn't higher mind even if i probably wouldn't include it in the top 50. I don't think I'd put Alien anywhere near that high either. The Shining? I love it, though I'm not sure it should be number one. Halloween, The Evil Dead, The Wicker Man are all superior.

I like that Frankenstein come in higher than Bride of. Even in only just, I'd probably have put Whale's original up in the top 5. Bride is probably in the right place.

I saw that list earlier, it's the movie equivalent of when music/guitar magazines put Noel Gallagher in their top 20 guitarists of all time lists! Utter shite!

The Evil Dead is another one that should be up near the top, while it often higher praised sequel is in the right sort of spot.

I really enjoyed Drag Me to Hell. I've only seen it once though. It's not a film i'd put in any top 50 or even top 100 horror films though.

In fact i doubt any you mentioned would get a sniff in a top 100 of mine, even though i do like them all.

I also prefer Frankenstein to Bride.

Who needs Empire's list when we have Cult Labs' anyway!
