I still got no luck with the Bronx set from my HMV. I've tried to order it several times now but they cant get their cash point to accept the order.
Will the 3 single dvds get a store release.?

Just ordered this on Amazon. The tin looks phantastic and I've never seen the films. Those will be my first Shameless DVDs - stun me, and there will be more.

Default Castellari's Post-apocalyptic warriors trilogy

Got my copy from Amazon. When it arrived, the tin had a slight dent on the lower right (on the 18 logo)

How's the package design?
I like the tin packaging very much. It's coool (5 out of 5)

How's the dvd case design?
Excellent! Those yellow keep cases fit in nicely with the genre (5 out of 5)

How's the dvd sleeve design?
Super cool with the reversible sleeves. Shameless should be doing this more often with other titles. (5 out of 5)

Now the films:

THE BRONX WARRIORS
Content: 3.5 out of 5 (Pretty good for the camp factor. Who's watching this for award-winning quality anyway?)
-Mark Gregory must have been a cat-walk model judging by the way he struts!
-Check out the solo drummer perching at one side of the screen during the toughs gathering.
-Watch how menacingly the tap-dancing gang starts a fight

Video: 5 out of 5 (Excellent)
Audio: 4 out of 5 (Good)
Extras: 3 out of 5 (Fair)

ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX
Content: 3.5 out of 5 (Pretty good for the action scenes)

Video: 3.5 out of 5 (Pretty good)
The extended scenes that are shown in cropped format should have been placed as Extras, not in the film itself.

Audio: 4 out of 5 (Good)

Extras: 3 out of 5 (Fair)
There should have been interviews with Henry Silva and Mark Gregory.

THE NEW BARBARIANS
Content: 3 out of 5 (Fair, quite fun though)
-Just look for those hairstyles, shoulder pads, modified golf cars, laser-sounding guns, and don't forget Claudio Simonetti's breakdancing music score
-Being an Italian production, I guess the costume designer had taken ideas from famous Italian fashion designers: The Templars' outfits, Nadir's battle suit, Scorpion's see-through bullet proof vest... yeah!

Video: 4 out of 5 (Good)

Audio: 3 out of 5 (Fair)
Some of the dialogues are barely audible.

Extras: 3 out of 5 (Fair)
Castellari should have been given an interview about the stylishly cheap production design of this film!

If HMV have any sense then yes.

But it sadly seems that the relevant retailer remains reluctant recently to give Shameless output any exposure.

The Gateshead and Newcastle outlets are pretty much devoid of the company's titles where once both branches had a healthy selection of Shameless stock. Not good.

I have no idea. I'm sure they do have some sense, just not when it comes to giving genre fans what they want.

Gee....that must be it!

You're quite right and it's all too sad a fact with HMV. Too much focus on mainstream output while giving the cult crowd the cold shoulder.

Imo it's pretty low the way the relevant retailer has seemingly turned a blind eye to Shameless titles. Let's hope the situation takes a turn for the best sooner rather than later.

The problem isn't just with HMV but with just about every retailer, etailer and cinema chain that would rather show/sell latest Michael Bay abomination than anything interesting, offbeat or remotely intellectually challenging. It's all about the lowest common denominator.

Maybe UK fans should write to HMV and ask them about it?
