BBFC Problem Films

I'd like to see if the BBFC would cut Death Hunt today. If they don't that would presumably mean they have recieved assurances or evidence that the fight was indeed faked.

I've never heard the AHA ever condemning the film either although they don't appear to have monitered the film.

Amores Perros also contained scenes of realistic dog fighting but they were faked.

ITV 4 regulary show Death Hunt uncut (?) and i hope the dog scenes were faked but you knever know. You also see a deer get shot but i think that is fake.

Yes, the stabbing of the snake in 99 Women is horrendous, worse than the one in Bloody Moon.

They passed it uncut twice including for video, so presumably it was faked. Hope so anyway.

Thanks for the replies. Strange though, being passed uncut twice, on video & I assume theatrically, it still hasn't seen the light of day on R2 dvd? Apart from said scene which makes me uncomfortable, I recall the film as being pretty good. Think I might chance the R0 dvd after-all.

If you look carefully at Death Hunt,you'll notice the dogs hardly open their jaws if at all.I think they were wearing some type of muzzle.You never see the dogs snapping jaws.The BBFC are obviously happy the scene was staged.The fight in Hitman also seems staged to me,looking at it again recently (Cut on video,uncut on TCM),but the film-makers obviously could not prove it so it was censored.I'll add screencaps from the Death Hunt dogfight on the Worldwidedvdforums for people to judge themselves.BTW if you get the R0 Australian release,go for the photo sleeve,as it's the best quality picture.

Thanks, Mark. I'll check out the Aussie disc as recommended. I think the US disc is pan & scan (shudders). Uploading the screencaps would be excellent, you're a gent.
I have a real soft spot for our canine friends. I even had to watch Sam's death scene in 'I Am Legend' on Youtube first to brace myself, before I could face the rest of the film!

Definitely faked.You can see the brown dogs jaws are held shut with a type of band/strap in one of the shots below.In all the other caps the dogs jaws are never open:-

EDIT:-The last cap of a muzzle/strap on the white dogs jaws proves the scene is staged & the animals were unhurt.

Certainly makes me feel better watching it now, Mark. Just registered on the worldwide forum too. That'll be more hours lost when I should be working

P.S. Now if anyone can convince me the animal deaths in Cannibal Holocaust were faked too, I might finally get around to watching it! (joke)
