Now... The audio....

For the most part great BUT those digital distortion glitches near the end are painful and I can't figure out why they happened as they're not on the Italian audio track. I often watch with headphones as I watch quite a lot in the early hours but I'm glad I didn't with this. Digital distortion is quite dangerous to hearing as it's all high frequency and having those turned up on headphones would have been quite nasty. I actually think it's an issue that is worth looking at.[/QUOTE]

I have to agree on the audio and can't help that think it must be some sort of a mistake. I generally hate it when audio switches to a different language but I think in this case if the English audio had such a defect I would have welcomed a quick switch to Italian with subs.

Got around to watching the bd last night. In many areas, the image is really good, really well done and nearly amazing (mostly the outdoor daytime stuff). At other parts, nearly every dark scene in fact, there's some serious compression/encoding issues that I'm surprised are present. Strange looking stuff, but others have noted about already. Curious how that happened. The audio was very good too, though the end is rather intensely cranked up and distorted as others have also noted. The Cozzi interview is good, learned some good new info about the movie. The Italian trailer is so much fun too. The branching worked perfectly well on my player, so my hat's off to learning the technology needed for this and getting it done.

I'm not expecting a recall for this and don't know whether it really needs one (whereas THE BEYOND did), but it is a curious situation and disappointing in these aspects. I used to quite like FFoGV, but after watching it last night, my appreciation of it lessened. Still some very good moments in the movie however.

Hi folks.

I watched Four Flies last night and on the whole was very pleased with it. My system wasn't keen on some of the night scenes especially the early scene when Roberto's lying in bed. Definite digital black problems which I haven't suffered with any other bluray.

Also the Italian audio popping up in the final scenes was a surprise! Interesting to watch but the clicking started to annoy.

The biggest problem came when the final scream and screech of tyres is heard. I wasn't playing the film very loud at all (I watched it late at night when my wife was in bed and our new born was sleeping in the living room so needed to keep it fairly low key) but when the scream/screech occurred, my surround sound system freaked out, the display read "PROTECT! PROTECT!" and then it shut itself down to stop the speakers from bursting!! I don't know if anyone else has suffered this before but I've never had any problems with the system in the past (played my bluray of The Last Waltz LOUD a few days ago and had no trouble at all).

Still it's great to see the film finally in HD!

This is a problem on all copies and personally I think Shameless should do a recall or something and get corrected discs out on the market because it's not just a minor fault. It's a lot worse a problem than the mononchrome opening on The Beyond that Arrow issued replacements for.
Just my two cents anyway

Just had a look at the final scenes of the film, and I have to agree about the sound. I can't believe this was released with those distortions during the Italian parts. It's not often I complain about a Shameless (or Arrow release for that matter), but this is a fail.

On the English audio, when it switches to Italian during the final scenes at a few points.

I thought so... haven't checked the english audio out, and don't intend to. So it's no problem for me.

So it only happens with the english audio, right? Haven't seen my BD yet, but I'm planning on seeing with italian audio...

Shameless HAVE to fix this problem as it can damage your speakers if your watching at a loud volum. And if listening through headphones it may also do damage to your eardrums. Don't Shameless have any quality control??
