Looking forward to watching this again. TBH, I don't recall it being that good, but the security guard at my work has been going on and on about it for weeks so it prompted me to track it down!

If thats the film i think it is i thought the film was awful., And i didnt twig till later on its all done with just 1 camera...u just see everything from 1 angle only...Also tried to do a Quentin Tarantino and watch the scene again from a different person point of view ...Just didnt do anything what so ever for me but bore me to death...

yup
i missed it at the cinema sadly.
only watched it on dvd first time.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 17th February 2011 09:32 PM

Picked up today from ASDA;

THE SOCIAL NETWORK
RED BD
BURIED BD (Only a tenner, whilst the DVD was £13.97:confused:)
VAMPIRES SUCK

Any film which takes the piss from Pattison's beloved Twishite saga has to be worth a look!

Nemesis 17th February 2011 10:35 PM

Reaper,

The reason why Buried BD is cheap could be because word has got out that it is presented in the wrong aspect ratio - it's in 1:78, when it should be in the theatrical 2:35. Several people have been complaining about in the blu-ray.com forum; Land of Whimsy has also commented on it.

Agreed! I heard bad things about The Stranger, unfortunately. It's apparently had an extreme DNR make-over and looks very waxy.

Also, DVD Beaver has a review of Kansas City Cofidential - The DNR doesn't look too bad, but it looks very bright.

I wasn't expecting top qulaity, though due to them being public domain; and I suppose we should be grateful to have them on Blu-Ray at all! Still, over use of DNR is still shitty.

It's been three weeks but EAGLES OVER LONDON has finally arrived. Unfortunately the seller put it in the least protective packaging ever and the case is fecked!:censored:

Watched the blu ray of THE DEADLY DUO, it looks fantastic. Let's hope some more Shaw classics get the blu ray treatment soon as the releases seem to trickle out.

This is region A locked btw.

pedromonkey 18th February 2011 04:17 PM

i only have the R2 Mgm release, i think i'll be getting that one now.

Stephen@Cult Labs 18th February 2011 04:18 PM

You do realise that after buying it, this is when MGM now announce either an anamorphic special edition dvd or a blu-ray. It seems to happen to me a lot!

but it won't have that artwork stephen, it will have some variation on the current dvd release...

Stephen@Cult Labs 18th February 2011 04:28 PM

Or knowing MGM, something even worse!

It was a little cheaper than the UK Death Line DVD, and it does have a trailer which the UK one doesn't.I've also read the UK disc is slightly cropped.Apart from that I think they are probably more or less the same, just the film's titles are different. :)

the blob 18th February 2011 07:49 PM

I've had the Raw Meat R1 disc for a long time an it's a good disc. Can still get it dirt cheap as well I think.

the blob 18th February 2011 08:12 PM

Arrived today thanks to Warners DVD2BLU exchange programme.

Deliverance
Final Destination
Freddy V Jason
The Fugitive
LA Confidential
The Shining

LA Confidential was $6.95, the others were $4.95 + sending in my old dvd's via freepost.
