Yep. :D

I've sold most of my BU DVD releases: Delirium is one of the few I've held onto, as it's a nice sleazy psychedelic gialli crossover, that sadly hasn't had a widespread release. I missed out on the ABUS release, so was overjoyed when BU re-released it a few years ago.

The only BU releases I have left on DVD are:

Blind Dead Coffin set (my favourite release)
Cannibal Man
Cannibals
The Church
Deathdream
Delirium
The Fifth Cord
The Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion
God Told Me To
Hitch-Hike
The Killing Hour
The Pyjama Girl Case
Q: The Winged Serpent
Seven Deaths in the Cat's Eye
Shockwaves
Venus in Furs

I much prefer it when a company releases something that hasn't already been released a zillion times elsewhere.

Whats The Killing Hour like Bizarre_eye?

Often wondered but never picked it up.

Luckily for us British cult labels never re-release the same old stuff.

I wasn't expecting much, but I actually quite enjoyed it. It's fairly slow-paced, and more of a supernatural mystery than a 'slasher', which is probably why most people dislike it (incorrect marketing etc.)

Whilst I thought it was quite good, I also feel that it doesn't quite live up to its full potential, but it's definitely worth a watch.

A nice collection you had there, Pete

I used to own a few of those, too.

Pete 22nd April 2012 07:48 PM

I think I bought most of them from Daemonia.

I've had loads of releases from company's like BU, AWE, Anchor Bay, Shriek Show, Severin, X-Rated etc. I would have had an amazing collection if I'd have kept hold of them all.

I think that BU's Mark of The Devil was Region 1 from what i can remember. And also one of the Blind Dead films as well.

Yep, now free from the Amazon perptuated illusion that ALL BU releases are region 1 I've had a good look at their web site and most are region 0. Unfortunatly Blind Dead collection is region 1.

Maybe then...just hope they don't tamper with the audio too much...it really gives it a distinct feel.

I watched the Universal 100th Anniversary video about the restorations, and they talk about cleaning up all the hissing in the soundtrack, and the camera shaking in Dracula
