Im sure criterion will get round to releasing them as well, but in recent years i've found myself trading in my criterion discs for eureka ones. (Especially kurosawa movies) as often they source better prints. These two are top on my list after the startling job they did on metropolis!

If you're into Kurosawa and MoC discs, then check out their Mizoguchi and Naruse boxsets (brilliant purchases!) and Imamura blus - Profound Desires of the Gods, Pigs and Battleships and Vengeance is Mine. The DVD of Imamura's A man vanishes is also coming out in October.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 29th July 2011 07:48 PM

I've just bought The Man Who Could Cheat Death/The Skull US BD new from Amazon marketplace for only £6.38 delivered.

Would like to show you the stuff I ordered, but i'm 10 Posts shy of posting links.
With the current £-€ Exchange rate it's good shopping in Great-Brittain!

Ordered Cross of Iron the other day on playtrade for £6. I think one of the fellas on here reviewed it which made me want to check it out.

just ordered Route Irish, and I'm looking forward to The Veteran when it comes out. Both are new films so should look good on blu.

I just received Route Irish on Blu-ray from Lovefilm. Looks nice PQ wise but the film wasn't as good as I was hoping for, was expecting more as Looking For Eric is the best British drama film I think I've ever seen.

I actually bunked off school and passed myself off as 18 (I was actually 16) to go and see Risky Business at the cinema. Even back then, films were already ruining my life.

Wow thats a real mixed bag.

Can't for the life of me understand why you would buy Dr Dolittle along with The Beyond.

You aren't a burglar are you?

Baseball Fury 1st August 2011 11:51 AM

I watched The Hole last night. I thought the first 70-odd minutes was pretty creepy for a film aimed at the young'uns, but after that it was a bit teen fantasy-esque. Definitely worth a watch though!

enterthehero 1st August 2011 11:52 AM

lol im not to picky when it comes to films
its kind of an addiction if i see a nice bargin on a film i dont have ill have to buy it lol

Its a very under-rated flick.

There's an awful lot of DVD titles mentioned on the previous page thanks to bdc and enterthehero -- great hauls both.

I can't imagine Sorry, Wrong Bedroom is high art, but it's a fine title for an exploitation film.

Only reason to feel guilty is the price of the damn things, a fair few wrestling fans here... Just call me 'Joker Sting' one of the best and worst gimmicks in a long time.

I'd love that, but I'm afraid it'll have to wait. Unless it is a 'must buy' title or absolute bargain, I'm going to pass in order to work my way through my pile of unwatched discs so I have enough room by the time September rolls around!

However, when I've watched several of the bumper batch of Criterion titles, I'll probably be in the mood for Black Moon.

I ordered Obsession on Play last Monday which got despatched on Tuesday. I ordered Almost Human on Tuesday on Play which got despatched on Wednesday. Almost Human arrived on Saturday but still nothing on Obsession. Has anyone had a similar experience with Play? I'd have thought Obsession would arrive a day earlier than Almost Human and really hope it's not got lost in the post.

edit: Also just pre-ordered Rolling Thunder for £7.85 at Zavvi. I thought the release date was sooner than 5th December rmind. Still, great price!
