Just found a cheap AB copy of Fulci's Zombie. What a terrible picture and an even worse commentary track! Surely this classic deserves a better version from someone like Arrow. In this post Saw world I imagine it would sail through the BBFC uncut.

Cornerstone media have already released it uncut.

Why did you buy Baghead if you don't mind me asking? Never heard of it!

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 9th September 2011 06:00 PM

Fantastic haul, Reaps!

Picked this up from the PO this morning:

It's available uncut over here, and has been for a few years. Still no decent UK release though so an Arrow release would make my year, especially if they recorded a new commentary, because as you say, the old one is crap

A film with a title like that?
Who could resist?

None.:mmph:

I don't own it but i bought it for someone a couple of Christmas's ago.

I too have the AB US release.

A Perfect Getaway - No classic but a tidy little thriller nonetheless with a decent twist which I never saw coming. This is one of the nicest looking blu rays I've seen thanks, in no small part, to being set in Hawaii. Some of the scenery looked amazing - even my other half was impressed and she couldn't give two hoots about such things.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 9th September 2011 06:06 PM

I have the excellent Shriek Show release of Zombie Flesheaters, but will be adding the Blue Underground BD to my collection very soon...

Nice haul Reaps!
That Communion artwork would be enough for my wife to file for divorce and take my kids from me!

True. nice artwork as well.

Do you recommend Priest.? I quite fancy it but have only heard largely negative feedback.

napalm-in-the-morning 9th September 2011 06:08 PM

The Zombie commentary was terrible. Slater sounded half-cut and McCulloch obviously hated the film and didn't want to sit through it, let alone comment. How on earth did AB persuade him to do it?!

Never listened to be honest. I love the film and don't want it spoiled by chatter.

The SS set is awesome, I also have the Italian Shock disc with the soundtrack and I'll be getting both the DVD & BD from Blue Underground to add to my collection, although it'll have to be very special to beat the SS one

I sold my Region 3 Mardi as well!

More on this in the Code Red topic. ;)
Btw the movie can still be viewed without the Maria segments.

Received this oldie today. :)

Love the Japanese artworks (don't ask me why...but I've also got lots of japanese vhs) so if I can pick one up cheap I go for it.
I prefer it when they're English friendly though.

I'm waiting until after the weekend, just in case I've won this weeks comp. I had it on priority from Lovefilm but took it off my list when I read that you'd been sent an old disc.

Received Perfect Strangers today and hope there's a loud knock at the door tomorrow by a postman carrying the Scarface cigar box.

SCARFACE - i have the steelcase (mentioned it before eleswhere) because on the sd after the universal logo there should be the words scrolling up to tell you about the cubans etc
but on the sd it has subtitles instead
what about yours??

MGM did the same thing with one of the dvd releases of The Terminator. The opening text was replaced by player generated subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

I'm pretty sure mine will be the same then, due to it being essentially the same steelbook version. I will check it later.

I'm pretty sure it was £16.99 described as 'Used - As New' (or words to that effect).

People are really paying up to £50? It still seems to be in stock in Eureka's webstore for £16.99.

ah
I saw it on play trade for £25 new so I thought not paying that much!
so got it new off fleabay for £17 inc postage.

I dont tend to buy used steelys just in case its not in best shame and I have to go through the hassle of getting refund.

Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Shogun Assassin (Dual Format) Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]

SHOGUN ASSASSIN LTD EDITION STEELBOOK BLU RAY & DVD NEW / SEALED OOP | eBay

I believe that all existing stock was destroyed in the Sony fire, so the only ones that exist are the ones people have in stock directly.
