| John "dies" early (it's in the trailer), but that's part of the plot/central gag and he's not written out. The title is ironic.
The book is fantastic by the way, and although the film is fun in a silly way, it's not a patch on the book (and is only a small segment of the book too - they miss out loads of the book).
It will probably fall on deaf ears but I'd say definitely read the book first as it was one of my favourites of that year. The film, while fun in its own way, is not a batch on it. |
