Besides, i remember it being pants, so paying £1.27 is enough.

Arrow's older BD edition was dual format so you've got no excuse! :tsk: :D

Have to say, I'm not normally fussy about these thing but Arrow's BD is the worst I've seen.

You can't say it looks worse than Fremantle's BD of Straw Dogs.

Straw Dogs Blu-ray - Susan George

Embarrassing.

Just a couple of charity shop buys today;

Although I have a vague recollection of ordering DVDs and Blu-Rays online last week, that might explain why I only have £20 left until the 31st :p

Only fail was Keenu Reeves' attempt at an English accent, great film much like it's counter-part Mary Shelly's Frankenstein

 A vague recollection? Were you drunk? I do that a lot. Have hardly any money, have a few drinks, and think, to hell with it! and order stuff.

No but I have the ability to recall what it feels like to drunk order and conjure it up, at will, midweek. I'd say it's one of my talents. I'm pretty sure I may have ordered more than 5 but less than 10. Checking my orders would ruin the surprise though.

Dark Secrets is a classic. I had no idea it had a UK release. Just a way overpriced US one.

I enjoyed Creatures from the abyss... mainly for the dialogue..

"professor, how long have you been f*****g fish?"

"their old enough!"

Priceless. Its an awful film in many ways but quite a bit of fun also.

I'll be picking up the Sony classics version of Dracula when it comes out, I've always liked the film, especially the prologue scene with Vlad in his red dragon armour!

I can't stand those damn Sony covers! :p As for Dracula I enjoyed it quite a lot. Perhaps the casting was a bit bizarre (although I do love to see Tom Waits in films) but Coppola did end up with a visually stunning film full of dark, gothic imagery.

I've had this edition on blu-ray for 3 years. Is this new release a re-master or something? It looks fantastic in hi-def in this version.

Rik 19th August 2012 05:48 PM

I could be wrong, but I think it's just a re-release with new, crappy artwork

I've been meaning to upgrade for ages, I have the 2 disc special edition DVD which looks fantastic upscaled and I think has similar extras to the BD

The blu's pretty much the same but all on one disc. One bit to look out for in peticular is where drac turns into a swarm of rats, the level of detail is incredible.

I'm trying to keep it as eighties as possible, but a few early nineties films have sneaked in there! I used to have the Expendables steelbook but flogged it on here :p I would like to go see The Norris in Expendables 2 at the cinema though!

I really liked the series and have the first film but not watched it yet. For the price of postage it might be watchable.

But i doubt it.

I have to agree, as much as I loved the series, enjoyed the first movie the second was disgusting.

SharonLynette 20th August 2012 05:19 PM

I think I must have low-balled my estimate the other day as I returned home to a pile of packages, I don't think I included these in my estimate the other day :o
