Absolutely right – it's an excellent release.

We went to France and stayed in a static caravan during the Easter holidays one year and, when I'd read all the books I taken, I decided to read one of the Mills and Boon books which had been left in the caravan.

I thought it was hilarious – really badly written with several 2-D characters and utterly clichéd dialogue. I thumbed through another and found it to be exactly the same, with practically the same characters, only with different names!

That's pretty much what I like about them. I just like bad things, bad everything. I used to volunteer in a charity shop and one of the old dears would make me find the dirty parts to read out to her. Fun times!

Yeah, I just sat and watched the 88 Films BD of Puppet Master with some freind's to celibrate result's day.
They laughed at how bad it was, I laughed cause i was high...........shit, NO!!......

It really is a stunning release of a classic little gem that I adore. Role on the sequels!

The first fruits of my e-bay firesale - the rest reserved for 2 forthcoming Criterion must haves - In the Mood For Love and Rosemary's Baby - damn they're addictive.

Daemonia 24th August 2012 12:42 AM

I watched my BD of Puppet Master earlier and I thought it looked terrific. Never would have thought a Full Moon production could look so good - gave me a new appreciation of the film.

Not really, it's alright, (You probably have it already) but the book Crystal Lake Memories is the better way to go.

Went into my local record shop for some Ambient but noticed some dvds, the 2 Takeshi's were £1 each, then saw "Region 1 discs £1" he had some mainstream R1 so picked up both DH and Getaway, again good as new with different art, £4 the lot.

The Getaway is McQueen at his coolest.

I find The Deer Hunter really dull, but thats just me. ;)

Have you seen Violent Cop before? Its excellent.

Yep, love a bit of Takeshi, his bio is amazing, talk about a full C.V. saw some of his early 'Two Beats' comedy stuff years ago on a sat channel, tho he did say the gaming generation should be "Boiled in oil" imagine he's a cool guy.

To be honest I thought this documentary was pretty poor, especially compared to the excellent never sleep again from the same team. The bonus disc is much better and what the main feature should have been like. They are righting the wrong though and bringing the crystal lake book to the screen, so can't wait for that.:woot:

Ninja Scroll, is that the film? If so, I'm getting on that! The DVD was one of the first I ever bought and it blew me away how good it looked.

Stephen@Cult Labs 25th August 2012 08:20 AM

My German blu-ray of Braddock: Missing In Action III arrived this morning.

And just noticed the back cover says the reverse art is a retro design. So I unwrapped it and found the artwork below. This is the first of these Ascot Elite/MGM releases (that I know of) to have different art on the reverse.

Hmv are having a sale and can buy all 3 Bourne films blu ray £12 temted to buy if got the money,

Susan Foreman 25th August 2012 09:10 AM

At the moment, we have my landlady's daughter, fiancee and son staying with us. Not happy about this, because apparently all my films are 'rape movie and kiddie porn', so i cannot really get anything new

NOTE: These are slanderous accusations. My 'rape films' are along the lines of 'Straw Dogs' and 'Cannibal Holocaust' and 'kiddie porn is 'The Children of the Corn' and 'Hard Candy'!

However, I have managed to get the following:

Poundland
Ink
The Presense - Note - the cover says it comes with extras, including commentary, storyboards and deleted scenes, but actually it's vanilla
Face/Off

HMV
The Devils £9.00

Charity shops
Encounters of the Spooky Kind - HKL - £2.99
Roman Polanski Box Set - 'Rosemary's Baby', 'The Tenant', 'Chinatown' - £4.00
Purple Storm - HKL - $1.99
Sir Henry at Rawlings End - £1.99
Rick Wakeman - Journey to the Centre of the Earth 30th Anniversary Edition - £2.99
