I received my Arrow order a couple of days before Christmas? I can't remember now but it was sent out on the 13th (ordered 30th Nov). Didn't you pay for expedited service? Did they tell you it had been posted and when? Also, is it worth asking them to check they've sent it to the correct address?

It looked astounding in the cinema.

Currently watching Singin' In The Rain, which is one of my favourite ever films. It looks lovely and I am so pleased to have it on Blu-Ray.

You didn't buy the new special edition release with a couple of new extra features and the CD soundtrack?

Nah. Nothing there to warrant the extra cash. I only wanted the film not the faff.

You're not the kind to listen to the soundtracks to musicals in the car and sing along?!

Gave in and ordered this.

fuzzymctiger 4th January 2013 10:51 AM

Took advantage of ImportCds sale, and ordered (all Blus):

Evil Dead 2 25th
Zombie Holocaust (Heard VERY mixed to bad things about this, but just HAVE to see this)
They Live
Halloween 2 (Scream Factory)
Halloween 3

Ended up at $90 AUD with shipping and handling, still $5 cheaper than Amazon, and hopefully it won't take a month to arrive like Amazon.

No zooming in, No DNR and No artifacts unlike the UK and US release.

cost about £16 from amazon.it but the film looks amazing with its brand new transfer and it's English friendly

Now can anyone guess what my next review will be?

SharonLynette 4th January 2013 07:19 PM

A few items arrived today, I have a few more items to come, I have already spent all my Christmas money. Well I have enough left for some chips and curry sauce tomorrow.

First arrivals of the new year...straight from France. :)

Ogroff: Mad mutilator -30th Anniversary Collector's Edition (1983) (Artus)
On the Run (uncut) (1988) (Métropolitan)

Ogroff has French audio and English/Spanish/Italian subs btw. ;)
On the Run has Cantonese audio but is not English friendly (only French audio or subs),it's in a really cool sideways digi pack thingy.

Ogroff caught my eye on Diabolik DVD, I was quite tempted, it sounds right up my street. Would love to know what you think of it when you get around to watching it.

bdc 4th January 2013 07:37 PM

I'll put a little review up and pm the link (if I don't forget). ;)
I got mine from Amazon.fr.

Just from a seller on Amazon, I don't know why I hadn't bought a copy of this earlier!

Cheers Sharon

I must pick up a copy next pay day. This was bills week so a very slow week for films makes me a sad panda :(

SShaw 4th January 2013 09:10 PM

First purchase of the year was the German Blu-ray of Safe. Although the disc has an English sound track it is not English "Safe" as it only has German subs for the Mandarin and Russian dialogue.

Make Them Die Slowly 4th January 2013 10:39 PM

I'm on a self imposed buying strike until I whittle down the back log of dreck cluttering up the house. With this and quitting smoking, I'll be a rich man by Easter.

I quit smoking about three years ago and never looked back, best decision I ever made. I quit by locking myself in the house for two weeks with a freezer full of food and the complete buffy and angel tv series to marathon.

I'm still not a rich man, my house is just full of dvds and blu-rays I bought with the cash!

Mother of Tears by any chance? It only cost me £2.50 brand new from Zoverstocks and as I've recently watched Suspiria and Inferno, I'm intrigued as to how the trilogy ends, even though I've heard it's rubbish :)

Beyond72 5th January 2013 12:55 PM

Yea, sorry Rik, but I'm not a fan of MOT. I think the fact I went out on the day of it's release (which was a barmy summers day) and bemoaned the fact none of the shops near me stocked it, just made it even more of a disappointment in the end.

You may enjoy it as an Italian Horror flick, but it's a very disappointing effort compared to Suspiria & Inferno.

bdc 5th January 2013 12:56 PM

The Evil Dead with bd logo banner (or whatever it's called) on the bottom?

fuzzymctiger 5th January 2013 01:02 PM

It's the new steelbook. Mighty pretty

Rik 5th January 2013 01:02 PM

I've held off seeing it because of the bad reviews, same goes for Giallo, if it's as bad as they say then I've only lost out on £2.50. I'm gonna give it a watch over the next few days.

That Evil Dead BD is the steelbook, the blue bar at the bottom is on the card insert

I like it.

Take from that what you will.

SharonLynette 5th January 2013 01:20 PM

A couple of arrivals today but I'm still expecting quite a few more, I have gone blu-ray mad! I am telling myself I won't be buying anything else until March but that will all change if I get a voucher or something :decision:

Got an advance on some birthday cash (not 33 until 15th) to get my hands on the raros NIGHT OF THE DEVILS, as I heard it was a limited pressing (no idea if that's true)

Had a bit of an issue with paypal crashing, I re-ordered only to find the payment had gone through twice, then raro somehow managed to refund me twice so I had to re-order!!

Hope its a good movie. Given the dileo box-sets quality it should LOOK good at least.

Found DVDs of John Hughes's Weird Science and Robert Aldrich's Too Late The Hero in the chazzo shop for a quid each!

I had read that bit twice as the first time I thought you'd written 'dildo box-sets'!
