From Cex £1. Soloman Kane dvd.

I had it on dvd for years then saw the Blu in Cex so bought it then got rid of the dvd. When i settled down to watch it the Blu wouldn't play so returned it. Nothing wrong with the disc aesthetically at all simply wouldn't play. A second copy from Onlinemusicfilmsandgames was the same. Apparently, and this was something i didn't know is that certain discs just stop playing. Several Icon releases have had the same issue. With a little research i found a thread dedicated to Blu's that just stopped playing. This wasn't listed but it was clearly afflicted with the same issues.

Anyway now i've found another dvd in near mint condition so i'll stick with that.

I'll post my recent online purchases when i get them all. Still waiting on a package from Powerhouse that would have arrived tomorrow but for the bloody postal strike. :chainsawkill:

Some Lionsgate discs from around 10 years are affected like this. I’m not sure if anyone has got to bottom of it as it doesn’t appear to be disc rot, the discs look perfect.

My copy of Drag Me To Hell doesn’t load at all, in fact the player doesn’t recognise there is a disc in the tray!

Same with Solomon Kane.

I have the same problem with the Spanish thriller Hierro that was released some years ago by Optimum on Blu-ray. My first copy used to play some years ago, whereas now neither of my two players are even able to recognise the disc. I bought another second-hand copy a few weeks ago, and neither player can recognise that disc either!

no, sorry. No idea where it is. Just trawled back eight pages on the UK Blu-ray thread and couldn't see it. Must be elsewhere on the site i guess. I'll have another look later when i've more time.

It's not released until October 24!

88 supposedly ship early when ordered direct.

Against my better judgement and in an impulsive moment, I preordered it from HMV about a fortnight ago and it was shipped today.

I'll post photos when it arrives.
