Hello LineSix, I hope you like them, some are good, some are hard work but they are all never less than interesting. Let us know what you think of them once viewed.

I've got a few of the Pop Flix collections and have been pleasantly surprised by some of the transfers (not all of em mind...). I've got the one you've ordered but haven't got round to watching it yet. If you're into Italian Crime Films, the Big Guns Collection is worth checking out too...

dangerous_jamie 16th July 2010 04:03 PM

I'm gonna grab the Big Guns, and Spaghetti Westerns collections over the next few weeks.

Thanks for the heads up.

No problem! The pick of the bunch is the Mafia Kingpin Collection, which contains some real rarities such as Violent Napels and Rome Armed to the Teeth but it seems to be really difficult to get hold of

dangerous_jamie 16th July 2010 05:03 PM

I really enjoy the fact that the cover of the Hollywood Tough Guys set namechecks Vincent Price...

I'll keep an eye out for the Mafia Kingpins set. Thanks again!

Oh dear, the power of technology! I'm actually sitting in the pub at the moment. The missus popped out for a fag so I looked at the forum - next minute I've nipped onto play.com and snapped the TCM bluray up... and all before she got back!

Thanks for the tip off - what a deal.

Let me know if it's region free Steve.

Watched Raging Bull the other night.
Fantastic crisp black and white photograpphy.
Sound wasn't too clear though, but then again Raging Bull hasn't had great sound (the dialogue anyway) on any format I've seen.

Maybe I need to get the lugs syringed....

Anyone else of the same opinion? (About the sound-not my lugs!) :)

Stephen@Cult Labs 18th July 2010 08:59 AM

Sorry Reaper, it's been confirmed that Shout Factory's titles, including GOT, are region A locked.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 18th July 2010 09:27 AM

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!
Is this retribution for the Predator debate? Only joking.;)

Ach well,the DVD will suffice.

If it's Region A,perhaps someone is planning releasing it across the pond....? ;)

Stephen@Cult Labs 18th July 2010 12:19 PM

Collecting dvds/BD's is like opening a can of Pringles....once you pop, you can't stop! (unless you run out of money of course :D). After ordering GOT and Forbidden World yesterday, I had to order another Corman classic today, Death Race 2000. Now hurry up Piranha!

I just picked this up for £3 from Fopp in Manchester:)

dangerous_jamie 18th July 2010 07:27 PM

Nothing groundbreaking, but I hit a car boot this morning and it filled some glaring holes in my DVD library.

Kill Bill Part 1
Kill Bill Part 2
Sexy Beast
Van Helsing (20p, sorry everyone)
Control
Grosse Pointe Blank
The Departed
Apt Pupil
Kingdom Of Heaven
The Virgin Suicides
District 9
Collateral Damage

I also picked up some VHS:

Peacemaker - Looks to be a ridiculous sci fi actioner, directed by Kevin Tenney!
When Dreams Come True - Seems like a silly TV movie thriller balls deep in soap stars.
Evolver - Ethan Embry vs killer robot? I'm all over it.
Enemy Mine - It's f'in Enemy Mine!

pedromonkey 18th July 2010 10:12 PM

@antmumford: hola ant, picked it up from amazon.co.uk.

CARRIERS
7.00

It is indeed, it sounds like Man Bites Dog which I love so I had to pick it up. Can't go wrong for 3 quid

Nice cover for Princess Bride, like the fact it can read the same upside down. I haven't seen this film yet but heard it's great.

Managed to get that King Kong set on Amazon too for just over 4 pound, bargain

Mojo 19th July 2010 04:33 PM

I've been toying with the idea of picking up Death Race 2000 on blu, stevo. Let us know your thoughts on it. Looking forward to Piranha too.

Stephen@Cult Labs 19th July 2010 05:40 PM

I certainly will. Looking forward to Piranha as well.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 19th July 2010 05:52 PM

The dvds will do fine.Really looking forward to bagging this collection.

DVDBeaver.I've seen other reviews confirming the titles as Region A locked. Time for you to invest in a cheap and cheerful multi-region player Reaps.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 19th July 2010 06:29 PM

Where do I start Steve? :)

BTW,I bought Blue Underground's City of the Living Dead because I'm a compulsive completist, and there's no region coding on the back of the cover.

However,I'm terrified to put it in my machine!:behindsofa:

eNoize 19th July 2010 07:13 PM

No worries there, Reap.

City of the Living Dead, and most anything from Blue Underground, is region free, but I can confirm Shout! Factory titles are not.

My review for Galaxy of Terror at HDD should be going up tonight or tomorrow. Editor went with Black Narcissus first. I also have The Prowler in the works and should be posted later this week I believe.

I've been blessed with great classics these past two weeks. :woot:

I'm still emotionally scarred from putting my Django BD in the machine only for it not to play :(. It said Region A on the back but I had to check just in case it wasn't all just a terrible mistake!

I think Reaper knows how that feels with his canadian Halloween II BD. Luckily there was a young(ish) man named stevoj who was able to play it :D.

And looking forward to your Galaxy Of Terror review eNoize. Can't wait for my Corman discs to arrive.
