Went back to pick up Sexy Beast and found Reservoir Dogs tin :bananaride:

I watched Reservoir Dogs again this week.

It's easily my favourite Tarantino film and one of my top 20 of all time.

A few scenes aside it's just great acting from a few guys on a single warehouse set. Would make a terrific stage play.

It's an outstanding film the dialogue is fantastic sometimes funny sometimes terrifying. Great soundtrack too.

It has a raw unpolished feel to it that directors lose the more experienced they become.

Oh yeah and it's perfectly clear that Mr. White shot both Joe AND Nice Guy Eddie.

You either have a vast knowledge about everything or Wikipedia is constantly on your screen. :D

I remember it being staged in Portsmouth, many years ago

I picked up seasons one and two of Flight Of The Conchords from CEX for £6 and season one of Fargo from HMV for £9.99.

SShaw 1st May 2015 03:25 PM

I bought a blu-Ray of Cannon film documentary Electric boogaloo on my way home from work last night. I also picked up Maori language film The Deadlands which has English sub-titles, so hopefully I will have a better chance of understanding what's going on than when I saw it a couple of weeks ago at Imagine in Amsterdam.

Have you seen Folds Flesh before Keirarts?

It's one trippy giallo.

A bit quiet on the ordering at the moment compared to normal with only a few outstanding orders due in the next few weeks

This weeks additions are mostly charity shop and cash generator purchases with the dvds costing between 69p and 99p and Monuments Men and Railway Man which cost £2.49 each.

Here Comes the Devil, Epic Action collection and The Railroad Man were from Amazon marketplace.

Warriors Two andBruce Lee 30th Anniversary collection were Ebay purchases. I managed to win the Bruce Lee boxset for £4.63 delivered.

I'm not a massive fan of the American Ninja films. Had £25 worth of HMV vouchers given to me by work so headed in to Blackpool HMV. Was going to get the season 4 box-set of Game of thrones but saw these on the shelf and ended up buying them anyway.

I've never been able to work this one out. Most times I'm in England with a bank of Scotland or Cydesdale note I get told they can't accept it, but on one occasion I was offered 90p on the pound "exchange rate". I tried to spend a pound note one time and the person behind the till just looked at me with confusion.

Funny we were just talking about this earlier on, and I've just seen on Facebook a couple of my friends are discussing where they can get some English notes for going abroad. Lol. (I've cropped the best of the comments together)

I really like Screamers Treb. I've just recommended it to someone elsewhere on the forum. The sequels more than watchable as well - very gory.

Nomads is a terrific pick up too. A bit of a underrated gem in my opinion.

I've only seen the first six episodes of Andromeda and mean to get the rest at some stage.

Unfortunately you wasted your money on Underworld. It's absolute drivel.

J Harker 3rd May 2015 11:33 PM

I need to pick up Screamers too at some point. Good film.

Had high hopes for this especially as it is often billed as the best of the Italian Exorcist knock-offs. I'll give it another day in court but first impressions were that it took ages to get going and the possessed woman just came across as an irritating neurotic rather than scary demonic vessel. Not wanting to be unkind but the SFX were just awful and the stuntman deliberately rolling himself down some steps, propelling himself as he went has to be seen to be believed!

Picked up THE SOPRANOS - Music from the HBO original series and JOHN CARPENTER'S - Lost Themes, both of course, on CD.
