I have the french 2-disc, digipack release of Brian Yuzna's Necronomicon! It's a great release... but it has forced subs.... but if you rip it to the computer you can remove them easily!

There's a really cool release for the film "Necronomicon" in a French 2-disc digipack edition! Anamorphic Widescreen. Only downside is the forced french subtitles. But they can be removed if you watch the film through the computer.

amazon.fr/Necronomicon-Jeffrey-Combs/dp/B0006SRV30/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1322762372&sr=8-12

Don't forget the www .

That's a strange cover art for The White Reindeer! Saw it earlier in the year, pretty enchanting stuff with some top location photography - is the dvd any good . . . ?

The only french dvd I own is the Metamorphosis on the Fravidis label. The dvd appears to have been sourced from original film elements. French is the only audio option.
I was going to buy Body count on the same label, then I learned that it was being released with an English audio option by Quadrifoglio, so I'm going to buy that instead.

Default The French Blu-ray Thread

With so many great films being released on BD in France, I thought it time that the territory gets its own dedicated thread and what better to kick off with than the classic 1974 Dracula from director Dan Curtis with Jack Palance - always a favourite of mine:

Release date is February 4th:
Dracula et ses femmes vampires [Blu-ray]: Amazon.fr: Jack Palance, Simon Ward, Nigel Davenport, Pamela Brown, Dan Curtis: DVD & Blu-ray

My copy of Wild Side's release of Night of the Demon arrived yesterday:
On an initial look the transfer looks absolutely amazing - no DNR visible and rich blacks and shadow detail. Clarity is outstanding and blows an already pretty good DVD out of the water.
The English DTS-HD Master track comes with fixed French subtitles BUT the really good news is that these can be turned OFF by using the down arrow key when you select the Audio Menu on your player. You cannot turn them off via the disc Top Menu though.
This is a beautiful box set which includes a booklet full of photos and posters from the film:
