SOO Bad it's Good!

:yo:

I'm sure most people on this forum cannot resist a crap film that's just soo damn good simply because of it's crap-ness. And what with the announcement that Troll is getting a remake! I thought it would be fitting to start a little thread of the all time so bad their gold films. So, what's you fav? (Or worse?)

BioZombie 23rd July 2009 05:39 PM

LA Heat its so awful its fantastic!!!

Daemonia 23rd July 2009 06:28 PM

Hell of the Living Dead/Zombie Creeping Flesh is bad and inept in every way imaginable, but it's a laugh riot and highly entertaining. Some class lines of dialogue in there too, such as...

Vincent: Patience is the chief virtue for those who have faith. Mahatma Gandhi, New Delhi, 1946.
Lt. Mike London: Up your ass. Lieutenant Mike London, Shit Creek, the year is now.

SWAT Team commander: Just be careful you don’t get your balls wasted!

spooks 23rd July 2009 06:36 PM

samarai cop, an insanely inept action film is easily one of the funniest films i've seen. You can check out some clips of it on youtube.

spooks 23rd July 2009 06:39 PM

btw great thread, I love crappy inept films, i know i will get some good recommendations here.

vincenzo 23rd July 2009 09:04 PM

Got to agree with Daemonia. Zombie Creeping Flesh is so abysmal that it's thoroughly enjoyable. Dawn Of The Mummy is another of the same ilk.

Don't Go In The Woods is just outrageously inept in every way - and great fun with it. :pound:

The older video featured the shorter edit (the re-cut cinema print). The 1998 video and DVD feature the longer director's cut. The most significant difference being the ending.

Fully agree there, Angel. Giant Spider Invasion is another turkey (or rather a fur-covered volkswagen) that's so absurd it's enjoyable.

Sure is. The 'bad chop suey' scene is a genuine classic, and who can resist Lynda Day's immortal yell of "Bastard! Bastard!!! BASTARRRRRD!!!!!!". :pound:

Pete 24th July 2009 12:38 PM

The Chop Suey scene is hilarious, its so out of place,

BioZombie 24th July 2009 12:38 PM

Bad chop suey had me in stiches!!!! I really want to get the Grindhouse releasing version of Pieces but its pretty expensive

Jess Franco was supposed to direct ZL but dissapeared leaving the producers to hire Jean Rollin at the last minute.

This is one of my favourite zombie films. It does have a dirty feel to it,from the sex scenes to the clay covered zombies.I'd also say it is more political than Romero's zombie films. And who can forget Peter Bark.

Any of you guys remember a film called hydra? Had it on vhs years back, and its a mad scientist job,who turns into a fish monster. One scene has him carrying a female victim over some rocks, and he stumbles, trips and almost falls a few times. Inept, but quite amusing.
This probably went under some other title,as it was released on one of those fly by night cheapo video labels, which took to renaming a lot of their titles.
Imagine my joy upon picking up the hokushin pre cert of mortuary and another horror film called embalmed at a market stall, getting them home and finding out they were both the same film!!!!:tsk:

gag 30th July 2009 10:48 AM

mortuary and embalmed
r these old films from 80s r 90s im sure i saw 1 when it was called mortuary at pics then bought it when it was callled embalmed names ring a bell...
Is it the 1 where there a few girls and i think the black girl has got constantly got something stuck in her mouth like a toothbrush

Angel 30th July 2009 11:03 AM

The 1983 film Morturay aka Embalmed starred Christopher George and Mary McDonough. It's a slasher film involving witches. It was heavily cut by the BBFC over here. It's also a film that I like.

I think its one dark night your thinking of.
Where the three girls, for a sorority pledge have to stay overnight in a mausoleum, which just so happens to have its very own "psychic vampire" who preceeds to terrorise them and reanimate the dead.
Its out on r1 from shriek show.:)

Yeah, pretty good, and it also starred a very young bill paxton.

One of my sons bought this and howling 3 from cash converters at the weekend. Hows that for a crap double bill.
He thinks they both stink!

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 31st July 2009 05:39 PM

:whoo: Good point Reaps!

Mmm - I do like Corpse Grinders! I think I'll give it a go - it supposedly meant to be really really disgusting - but is only a PG which is quite interesting. Worm eating - what could be better to watch then eating worms? Eating speghetti whilst watching people eat worms! Oh YEAH!

This'd be my pick for 'so bad it's good' as well - bizzarely, it's one of my most watched DVDs... always with mates and beer of course
