I've had that Scanners steelbook in my hand a couple of times and then I keep wondering what Criterion will do with it.

I can see it having a few more extras than Second Sight's for a start.

How much are HMV stores charging?

Edit – I mean charging for the steelbook, not for each time you hold it!

Fifteen smackaroos.

the blob 18th April 2013 06:03 PM

£14.99 in both the ones I've been too. I know the manager of one so he lets me hold them for free. :)

In that case, I think a trip to town is in order as that's cheaper than anywhere online. I stupidly cancelled my order with Zavvi to reorder with a voucher without checking if they still have them in stock. They don't.

Second Sight have updated their cover photo on Facebook, which almost certainly means a release! I'm so happy right at this moment.

Here it is.

I haven't seen it – I guess I've missed out on a classic piece of cult cinema.

I'm not sure if that's sacrasm or not Nos,
especially knowing my film buying habits.

No, it's not sarcasm. I like every Jack Hill film I've seen, so guessed this is a cult classic.

That would be Walter Hill, not Jack Hill (although he is very, very good too!). ;)

D'oh! In any case, I like both directors!

J Harker 29th April 2013 04:27 PM

Streets of Fire is Walter Hills best film in my opinion. Though I admit I've not seen all of them.

From what ive seen, Walter Hill is very promising, and I will be picking up more of his titles that come out, like The Driver, Streets of Fire and The Long Riders.

I haven't seen any Jack Hill's yet, but have Spider Baby and Foxy Brown on preorder, and both look good.

The only two Walter Hill films I actually have seen, are The Warriors, and Southern Comfort.

I blind bought Southern Comfort at a price I dont even buy Arrow titles for, and I loved it!

Southern Comfort is incredible, what a cast and what a setting! LONG RIDERS, ah, again what a cast! Hill's best for me thought is HARD TIMES! Bronson and Coburn, need I say more? :D

Susan Foreman 2nd May 2013 11:18 AM

'Southern Comfort'?

Just make sure you don't get the transgender film by mistake - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Southern-Com...uthern+comfort ...unless that's the one you want, of course!

oaxaca 3rd May 2013 05:59 PM

These two Eastwood Westerns (its like a genre in itself, isn't it!?) are coming out on BD this coming monday, their release date was moved forward by nearly a month quite recently...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

Haven't seen either of these, I'm hoping they'll be in HMV at a reasonable price on Monday (fingers crossed!)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 3rd May 2013 09:46 PM

Should be reasonably priced mate.
Looks like they saved a fortune on artwork production!
