Started watching Steve Niles' Remains last night on Horror Channel. Really not enthused about films at the minute and could barely concentrate on it. It was hardly great but still. Typically DTV zombie apocalypse horror thing. |
TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN. Not a horror film but a slice of True crime drama, this is still a very interesting little film. Two fantastic central performances from BEN JOHNSON and ANDREW PRINE. The film takes some liberty's with the source material but is a lot of fun. THE EVICTORS. Can't fault this, especially as a bonus film! Michael Parks and Jessica Harper move into a nice country home, only to find themselves terrorised by the previous residents. This one IS a horror and a very good one at that! |
Bit of advice needed for those guys that have seen Pacific Rim. I'm planning on taking my 9 year old son to watch it on Wednesday afternoon, so as I always do when the film is a 12A, I've checked IMDb to see if it would be too much for him with regards to violence/swearing etc and this it what is says in the profanity section of the parents guide: One F-word and one "s**t". A handful uses of "b***ard," "b**ch," "damn", "p**s" and "bloody." God's name is taken in vain around 12 times, four times with "d*mn." Jesus' name is used twice. "Hell" is used more than a handful of times, "a**" five or six. Name-calling (kaiju groupie, Elvis, stupid, old man, little girlfriend, disgrace, moron, genius, jerk and egotistical.) I'm not sure I'm comfortable taking him to see a film with the F-word in it, so can anyone tell me if it is noticeable or is it blanked out like Die Hard 4.0? He really wants to watch it, but being the responsible parent that I am, I wanna know if it is suitable for someone of such a young age, any advice would be most appreciated :decision: |

It's stupid really, 12A means anyone under 12 can see it so long as an adult is with them, so in theory I could take his 5 year old brother too  |

Ahem. also watched the awful CH liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite Welcome To The Jungle (2007). Avoid this, if....you hate FF films/poorly drawn characters/semi racist assumptions about tribal peoples. At least the "director" (best known for writing Jumaji:lol::laugh::pound:) had the decency to admit the debt to Deodato's film straight off the bat in the comm. |
Night of the demons Was not expecting much especially from the box art work but people on here keep saying how good it is. Really enjoyed it found it funny and atmospheric, some good kills and effects on the whole a lot better than I was expecting, can see now why people are wanting a upgrade to blu ray, which I would buy when and if it happens. 8.5/10 |
