I read somewhere (at some point ) that a lot of new dvd onward releases of "Animal house" don't have some of the original songs on the soundtrack due to rights issues.

So i'm not sure what's the best release is for this, or even whether the version i'm used to (Tv and Vhs) is the original version.

I would like to know if anyone has any info on this as it's a film i like and would like to upgrade.

I think every release bar the original UK vhs is changed. This happened to a lot of CIC titles... The Thing as well mind ... though that's been restored ahem.

Watched Antman & the Wasp yesterday. Yes it's fluff but it's so well crafted that it's difficult to find faults. It's very entertaining fluff. :) Film score - 7.5/10. btw It also had my favourite Stan Lee cameo. His short piece of dialogue was extremely amusing. :) Meanwhile Warner Bros (post Dark Knight trilogy) are still trying to get their shit together.

There are only minor substitutions on the DVDs, with the R1 special edition having all the same songs as the theatrical release, but all of the Blu-ray releases apparently have the 'right' music.

OVERALL: Draw
R1 30th Anniversary Edition Gift Set offers the original soundtrack, an exclusive documentary on its second disc and a 16-page yearbook.

General note:
Two different soundtracks are known to exist:
- The original 1978 soundtrack,
- An alternate one containing music substitutions (e.g. when Bluto is in the canteen filling his tray and stuffing his face, the original background music is Sam Cooke's "Win Your Love For Me", but it has been replaced by something else in the alternate soundtrack).

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Animal House AKA National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)

super Bitch.

Ivan rassimov is a corrupt cop working undercover at an escort agency to bring down two rival drug gangs. and ends up falling for working girl Stephanie Beacham.

Very good crime thriller indeed from the chap who directed What have they done to Solange, Massimo Dellamano. with loads of great action, violence, and nudity, especially from Miss beacham who was so prim and proper in Dracula AD, what would Peter Cushing say?
And actually quite funny as well with a hilarious scene were a politician has a fetish for dressing as a rabbit, although that wouldn't surprise me at all :pound:. and crazy old girl Mama and her gangster family who reminded me of the loonies in Mother's Day. and i had to laugh when her kids beat up the Robin asquith lookalike and then run him over in their car while the son plays
a tune on his guitar. priceless.

Yes, i enjoyed this a lot. and with an excellent turn from the ever reliable ivan rassimov. 80 out of 100.

Elves
A group of girls accidentally awaken an evil elf, who kills a pervy santa and tries to kill a girls pervy little brother. Dan haggerty investigates the death of the sleazy santa and discovers a nazi conspiracy.
So much going on, so poorly made. Even the elf looks like shit. A terrible festive b movie and definitely one to watch with friends.

Diary of a Madman (1963)

Magistrate Vincent Price inherits a malevolent invisible evil spirit (A Horla) when he accidentally kills a condemned murderer in prison. This entity forces him to then slash lovely opportunist model Nancy Kovack to death after she finishes posing for his amateur sculptures.

This is fairly standard horror fare for Price even though he seems to be having a field day in a role pretty much tailor made for him. The film has a lovely nineteenth century period feel to it and the overall effect is very Corman-esq. Whilst not the greatest Gothic horror of the sixties this is never the less well worth watching.

Black Christmas

Awesome slasher that pre dates Halloween & has the students of a sorrority menaced by obscene calls & a serial killer. Watching again I found this similar to Bava's Blood & Black Lace, and still find it superior to Halloween.

Perfect xmas viewing!

10/10
