Very true. And Van Damme has worked with some of the best, John Woo, Ringo Lam and Tsui Hark.

just seen The Rite!
I thought it was very good, its not had very food reviews and yes it does have cliches but was still entertaining. Both the guy that plays Micheal and Hopkins both did a very good job and complimented each other very well. As it was a PG13 movie the exorcism scenes were not that bad so would have been better R rated. Overall 8/10...might be a bit high but might lower it as I thought more about it but wont go lower then a 6 imo.

Watched Day of the Dead and then Land of the Dead. I hadn't seen Land since its theatrical release and I have to admit I still think it's a great film. Nowhere near as good as the original three but still pretty good.

I also watched some awful murder mystery tv-movie on Sky 3 late last night called Primal Doubt. Laughable acting, awful storyline but such a good laugh watching it with friends, shouting at the screen and being sarcastic. It has Costas Mandylor in from Saw, for whatever that's worth.

Oh and Hot Fuzz too on ITV2 yesterday. Did a lot of sitting about yesterday

Just given a spin to

Piranha 2010 .. on blu this time.

It really is a guilty pleasure, I am sure you will agree. Seeing it in HD glory made it even better! Great audio and great visuals ... despite the iffy CGI, but what the heck!

The party massacre still has me giggling like a kid, but now in even more detail!

Just seen Rubber!
I loved it!! ha ha
such a crazy concept and yet it was entertaining and funny!
Some people may find it boring as it repeats itself a lot in terms of what happens but it has a certain charm and a "I dont give a f**k" attitude about it.
Just open your minds and watch and u will have fun.

I really want to see Rubber since I saw the first trailers, nek.

It definitely looks a lot of fun.

Noticed that the Blu is up for pre-order too.

Now we all know the recent new wave of french horror has been pretty awesome and this is yet another one of them. Its not like Inside or Martrys with excess gore or violence but its still a pretty good movie.
I watched In Their Sleep last night and agree with your assessment. Although I pretty much guessed what was going to happen during the first act, it didn't stop me enjoying it and thought that some of the flashbacks and temporal shifts worked extremely well. It helps that the two lead performances by Anne Parillaud (from Nikita) and Arthur Dupont were excellent.

Went to see Drive Angry in 3D last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of fun, nudity, gore and explosions. The acting is brilliant (except for Cage, who's...Cage) especially from the super cool Accountant who steals the film with his level of bad-ass-ness. Plenty of familiar faces from My Bloody Valentine too which is always nice. The 3D looked great though only a few shots used it - things coming out at you was minimal. My only gripe with this is it could've done with even more gore, more action and more bad-ass-ness, for me it didn't quite reach those heights as well as it could've. Still a great film - I'd recommend it.
