It’s definitely better than the shower of shite TCM: The Next Generation, which I’ve watched way too many times than it deserves

TCM NG is like a scab you can't stop picking.

I'm sure the film makers were having a laugh and said 'Is there anything we can do to make this film any worse?'

'Well there's always Renée Zellweger!'

All I really remember of it is whathisname screaming and self harming. I must admit I haven't seen it in years and both times I watched it was on telly after a night in the pub.

Nurse Sherri (1978)

This is Al Adamson's take on all those possession movies that came out following The Exorcist, and throw in a touch of Carrie and Ruby for good measure. The poor girl in question is Sherri (Jill Jacobson) who gets possessed by Reanhauer (Bill Roy) who just so happens to be a cult leader.Well as you might guess hilarity ensues as all sorts of wild antics take place, not since Jim Dale sailed down a flight of steps on a trolley and got his head stuck up Charles Hawtrey, has a hospital seen this much horror or carnage...Al is pretty much on form, some soft core some mild bloody violence and just a sprinkling of that Adamson pixie dust.Sherri has the feel of a porno but without seeing any of the plumbing, its fair to say I luved it....

Francesco Dellamorte (Rupert Everett) looks after the cemetery in a small town along with his assistant, but this is a strange graveyard where the dead return within seven days and it's up too Francesco who the locals call the engineer and think is impotent and enjoys reading old telephone books to take care of the undead or returners as Francesco calls them, unlike the directors other work this is a dark comedy dealing with love and necrophile amongst other things, it's has very surreal and dream like quality to it and for me is the Soavi best film. 9/10

Tonight's viewings are White Zombie and a double bill of the first two Howlings.

Spider Baby (1964)

An 80 minute episode of The Addams Family starring Lon Chaney Jr which riffs on The Old Dark House with it's odd assortment of characters. Not scary, nor funny, but has it's moments - mainly House on Haunted Hill's Carol Ohmart being chased round the house and gardens in her sexy black lingerie.

All Hallows' Eve (2013)

A baby sitter finds a tape with three tales of terror on it, all linked to a murderous clown. Oddly this portmanteau seemed like an ideal double bill with Spider Baby. Occasionally gory with the odd creepy moment, yet at times awfully clunky, the clown is sort of impressive but it's Katie Maguire's babysitter who steals the show with an appealing performance.

Two films, both recommended and strangely enjoyable yet both far from perfect.

Shrooms
A group of friends head to Ireland to go and take some magic mushrooms in the forest. Unfortunately one of them take the wrong type of mushroom and trips balls badly. Afterwards she gains powers to see into the near future and sees her friends die off one at a time.
It's ok, however by the second half it kinda falls into a half assed slasher movie. Mostly it's forgettable.
5/10
