Love The Snake Woman, Nordy. It's one of those unheralded Gothics that came out and pretty much got lost in a wave of Hammer and AIP chillers.

Highly reminiscent of The Reptile and The Gorgon in a way.

It can be picked up pretty reasonably (or it could when i bought it for a fiver) on one of those Shout Factory / MGM Timeless Horrors sets accompanied by The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake, I Bury the Living and The Face of Marble.

Will definitely add it to my collection as soon as i sort a new region 1 player.

I was going to watch that last night funny enough. Still planning to view it before the end of the month though.

I saw your Letterboxd review. You gave it two stars and said it was shit.

I didn't give you a 'like'.

Maybe that’s not how I should frame a flick as unsentimental as ‘A!JTR’, which takes us into the heart of a love affair based on genital mutilation via cake knife. It’s about a moody chef and a mean waitress who fall for each other after they accidentally run over and kill an escaped mental patient; some kind of weirdly contrived vag-impalement happens when they try to drag the body away, apparently so arousing that romance is born. They develop an addiction to… rekindling the moment. A!JTR was made in seventies Japan by Nikkatsu and has all the strangeness and ickyness that one might expect from the more way-out stuff from that era. ‘Way out’ here means, not only the amped up tastelessness, but the wackiness that went into the soundtrack – breezy jazz drifts along, occasionally tilting towards a more yearnsome melancholy, as cake blades crunch and scrape. It’s basically a string of murder scenarios, but it’s neither callous nor particularly shocking. The atmosphere is one of a haunting kind of sadness, undermined by bits which seem almost knowingly absurd (the waitress’s reaction to chef going it alone with his cake knife – “but that’s like having an affair!”). Actually, rewind that last bit, A!JTR is definitely at least a little bit callous, but my, what an odd film.

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nod::hail:

Day 14

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VVEAkYlA8o

Alice and her friends try to survive in a post apocalyptic world. Quite enjoyed this with its mad max feel. With have the tyrant monster in this one but it's no match for Alice superpowers . 7.5/10

Day 15

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDGw1MTEe9k

A classic that needs no introduction, still without a doubt one the the must unnerving and scary films . 10/10

Day 16
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dc5iiT0f1s

Taking place once again after the events of the last film, Alice leads a assault with her clones on umbrella headquarters , the faculty is destroyed but Alice loses her abilities thanks too Albert Wesker.

She sets out with a new group of survivors to find Arcadia which is supposed to a haven for survivors , including Claire Redfield who has lost her memory and brother Chris. With have the creepy axeman monster from the fourth game . 7.5/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKK1kkZ-QEQ

A group of specialists are assembled when a secret government experiment combining human and alien DNA escapes and goes on a killing spree and could infect the entire planet. The design of the Alien Sil might look sort of familiar as H R Giger designed it. Enjoyable with a good cast and some good kills 7.5/10

Absurd. 1981.

A priest/doctor chases after a man with regenerative powers who goes on a killing spree teams up with the town's police to stop the madness.

Joe D'Amato teams up with Big George Eastman who is out for blood again, the plot seems a bit far fetched like it's something that starts out like a science-fiction film with another disembowelment (did George enjoy seeing his insides on the outside, at least he didn't eat them this time). The suspense and chills seem to be limited and far in between the first half of the movie, then it goes full blown horror the way we like it, where would you see a woman's head be put into a oven while it's turned on and see her skin burn slowly,or a slow drill through the head, it is a bit like playing with your food before eating it. A slow start that does pay off.

I only saw this for the first time when the UK bluray came out. I actually spent most of the middle act wondering why these Italians are so obsessed with watching American Football, it was only afterwards I realised the film was supposedly set in America  Unsuccessfully so, but George looked very handsome when he was killing everyone so that made it OK haha.

Pyewacket

A teenager, obsessed with black magic is forced by her mum to live in an isolated house in the forest. After a fierce argument she summons a demon to kill her mother but then later on regrets it.
So far today seems to be good, this was an great watch, a creepy slow burner.

Killer Nun. 1979.

Sister Gertrude is the head Nurse?Nun at a hospital whose behavior causes concern for the staff and patients when some end up dying around her.

This is one of those nunexploitation movies but doesn't go as far as Ken Russell's The Devils or Behind Convent Walls, there is no nuns running about naked except in their rooms and not making a toy from a piece of wood, but we do get a bit of nun on nun action and a old man in a wheelchair getting frisky with a young girl (you go Grampa). Anita Ekberg plays Sister Gertrude who is believed to be loosing her sanity on life, Alida Valli plays the Mother Superior and may have her own agenda. This may not be for everyone as it can go at a snail pace but go with it in a open mind.
