I revisted the House over the w/end so the film is fresh in my mind, and I must say that scene with Alex and Cindy still packs a wallop. More than the violence in the scene, the fact that Cindy is so young looking bothered me. I don't think it's a great film - as Italian home invasion/terror films go I think I prefer Terror Express and Night Train Murders...

How much will the total duration of cuts be? I'd expect it to be far less than before but still quite nasty in the censorship stakes. I'd say probably three to four minutes still.

I would say less, the first rape/murder should remain intact but some of the dodgy 2nd attack will get the snip, but the real cuts will involve the razor scene, so my prediction would be about 90 seconds. But my track record in predicting bbfc cuts is to be frank

I suppose they could get Deodato to replace the rape scenes with reaction shots of Lorraine De Selle looking shocked or GLR grinning at the camera and call it 'Another pointless re-edit by Deodato edition'

I have the pretty barebones but uncut AWE disc too, but would happily doubledip for the new extras and my strange curiosity for the new and most likely professionally done censorship cuts anyway.

A German language track would also increase my interest in this release vastly as the current German language releases are uncut, yet- like the AWE release- barebones.

As a weird sidenote: "House on the Edge of the Park" was DROPPED from the German "Index of restricted Movies"....though that must have been either due to the BPJM not really giving the flick a second viewing OR simply to the heavy amount of cuts to the old rental tape which made the list in the 80's...who knows....
