Shameless have done a good job with TORSO, FLAVIA THE HERETIC etc but wouldn't buy a cut dvd

Well, to be fair, James, the BBFC verdict hasn't come in yet, so let's not be too hasty in dismissing this release. After all, I NEVER thought in a million years that the BBFC would EVER pass Cannibal Holocaust with a mere 14 secs of cuts. I was stunned by the BBFC decision on that one. So let's see what happens with House at the BBFC before passing judgment.

Nearly 12 mins was cut out of the previous release, do you think the BBFC are going to waive all those cuts, even some years later??
I don't think so and remember the 'violence against women' act which the censors will cut some scenes out of this film
HOTEOTP will of course be cut
Even though the BBFC have been lenient over the past few years, it's a great shame we still live in one of the most censored countries in western Europe

I don't either, but if this release(along with Cannibal Holocaust) comes with superb new extras then I'll pick it up, my EC disc is lacking in extras, although fully uncut.

And the last time Cannibal Holocaust was submitted it was cut by 5mins 44secs, which is all the sexual violence and animal killing. Now they've only cut 14secs and left all the sexual violence intact.

There's also no 'violence against women' act, I assume you mean the Dangerous Pictures Act, which is pretty much aimed squarely at violent porn rather than 30 year old exploitation films.

I'm not saying the BBFC won't cut it, all I'm saying is that you're dismissing it before the verdict has even come back, which is a bit unfair. And it's not just 'some years later', a decade has passed since it was last submitted, things have changed a lot in that time.

What I'm saying really is I won't be buying the dvd - it's cut
If you and others want to buy the dvd - great
But I don't buy cut/censored dvds as I have said before
In other messages, someone who said they had bought the Shamelss blu ray of THE NEW YORK RIPPER, cut of course
I have the excellent Blue Underground blu ray and AWE dvd - uncut
The same for BARE BEHIND BARS - someone said they are buying the dvd in support of Arrow - again good
But I have the uncut Blue Underground dvd so why would I buy Arrow's dvd or other cut dvds for that matter?

But all in all, if whoever wants to buy cut films when there are uncut versions available, then fine

Yes, and the other thing that Cannibal Holocaust had in its favour was that the sexual violence scenes were mainly not very explicit, weren't drawn out and weren't detailed.

With House on the Edge of the Park, they are those things plus there are questions over whether Annie Belle's character is 'enjoying' her rape.

Again, I'm not saying it won't be cut. But, and here's the thing, we don't know yet what, if anything, will be cut by the BBFC. You're saying you won't buy it because it's cut - are you clairvoyant and already know the future decision of the BBFC on this title? As far as I know, the BBFC haven't yet considered this title as submitted by Shameless, how come you seem to know what the outcome will be?

House on the Edge of the Park is still with the BBFC and so we don't know what its cut/uncut status will be.

If people don't want to buy cut titles then that's their prerogative and it's absolutely fine. It's your money at the end of the day and you have the right to choose what to spend it on.

However, since the BBFC has not come back with a decision it is incorrect to say that the title is cut and I'd appreciate it if people would not state as fact something that they cannot possibly know since neither the BBFC or Shameless know yet. Like Daemonia, I am not saying that it will be uncut, nor am I saying that it will but cut. Just that it is wrong to state categorically that it is cut when no decision has been passed.

As soon as I hear from Shameless as to whatever the BBFC do decide I'll post it on here.

And lets not forget that Shameless got 'Night Train Murders' thru unscathed, so fingers crossed.
