Is this the birth of Heavy Metal in 1971? Maybe.

Definitely a great song, and it's pretty easy to identify with the lyrics...

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Finished with my woman
'Cause she couldn't help me with my mind
People think I'm insane
Because I am frowning all the time

All day long I think of things
But nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind
If I don't find something to pacify

Can you help me occupy my brain?
Oh yeah!

I need someone to show me
The things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness
I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh
And you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel
And love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear these words
Telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life
I wish I could but it's too late

This isn't metal, but sure as shit influenced a lot of bands. Plus, it's awesome and I dare you not to get it stuck in your head. (1969)

Bum!

I have just realised that the pub I am buying is about 15 miles away from Castle Donington, where the 'Download' festival is now held

Does this mean that I am going to be over-run with greasy metal heads for a weekend every year?

Come on then, people. Put your thinking heads on, and try and work out where the pub actually is!

Whoever guesses closest by the time we move in, will win a free small glass of diet cola!

Why would they be at your pub? Surely they'll be enjoying Maiden, Rammstein and Slipknot et al.

Fifteen miles is a long way away.

What about on the way to, or on the way from the festival?

And what about when they think 'gosh - Slipknot are nothing more than a poor imitation of the kind of theatrics that Uncle Alice uses. Now, where can I go for a bit of culture, where I can discuss the finer points of the writings of Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain, or the symbolic use of gouged eyes in films by Fulci. It's a shame there isn't a pub within an approximate 15-20 mile radius where I could go for a free small glass of diet cola'!

But, of course, while they are having their fresh, cooling small glass of free diet cola (served at the optimum 11 degrees c), and point out that Uncle Alice pinched his show from Lord Sutch *cough*, I would thrust out my chest, and remind them that Lord Sutch pinched his show from this person:
