I got the Foo Fighters Greatest Hits CD delux edition

Admittedly, I only got it for the second disc, which is a DVD of the bands singles, with a run time of about 90 minutes!

I only bought that for The One, which isn't on any of their studio albums. This morning, I ordered the Ramones' Halfway to Sanity and Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt.

Picked up pulp - different class and blur - parklife

SShaw 4th May 2014 08:02 PM

After watching The Battery I picked up Cover me with brule by Rock-Folk group Rock Plaza Central for the song Ain't no grave. The album is only available from Bandcamp and, as it is essentially a collection of unlicensed covers for which they are unable to charge, can be yours for as little as you want to pay.

I also picked up a copy of the self titled album Smoke Faries by the Smoke Faries which while not quite as good as Through low light and trees is still a welcome addition to my library.

Finally I went to see Delta Moon live at the local Blues club (Meisenfrei) with a friend a couple of weeks ago and came home with Life's a Song a recording of one of their previous gig's. Not really my usual cup of tea but I have really enjoyed listening to it.

Oh and I ordered Simon Boswell's Hardware soundtrack album direct from Simon's website. Hopefully it will turn up early next week.

Its a neat liitle steel box to,the metal alone must of cost a fiver and each disc has an individual sleeve so they have'nt skimped on that either.

I was told about this album by a friend in America. It took me by surprise and I'm really enjoying it, especially the first three tracks. Intro, Kettering and Sylvia.

The album is around £12 on Feebay but i got a copy in Fopp for £5. not bad at all really.

Nice! My latest purchase was in fact Swans - Filth, a recent bootleg (I believe) but a must have anyway.

Other than that I've bought some Death Waltz releases this month too, Room 237 and House By The Cemetery for example. Expensive but addictive.

Your right it does'nt,i should imagine buying the rights to any Who track would negate any profit made on the box set,Im assuming these box sets are made on the cheap.

It's a bit more political than that!

Apparently...back in the 1960's, the band made a bad business deal with their producer at the time, resulting in him getting a huge percentage of all the records they released throughout the decade

Because of this, The Who only released 4 albums between 1965 - 1970 ('My Generation', 'A Quick One', 'The Who Sell Out' and 'Tommy'). Instead, they made their name as a live act, rather than a singles band

Picked up this collection today. Already got Abigail but for $30 I couldn't say no.
Weirdly, Conspiracy is the only one with any proper disc art (the rest just have the title and track list). Quite like it though (linked because the pic is massive).

I watched the remake of Brighton Rock last week. I've not seen the original, shame on me, but i did enjoy this.

In the special features there's a lighthearted part called Mods or Rockers where the cast are asked where their colours would be.

The majority of the younger ones said Mods, however Andy Serkis replied Rockers as he still is one.

Helen Mirren also said Rockers as she liked motorbikes and leather and attitude, not those pathetic little Lambrettas.

I might check out the remake, the original is brilliant and its the best thing Richard Attenborough has done,British Noir at its best.
