"Surprisingly, much of this consisted of Franco Nero's role which sets up the entire narrative! In the more widely seen version, Nero just pops up for a couple of shots with no dialogue or explanation whatsoever. This longer cut also features a much longer version of the Peckinpah sequence as well as additional footage during the climactic bird attack. Anyone who's only seen this on VHS or television will definitely be surprised to find that there actually is a story here, though that doesn't necessarily make it any less insane." (Mondo Digital)

Don´t tell me that you buy Synapse, Blue Underground, Dark Sky, Shout in the web shops of the label themselves if you have web shops that offer discounts.

Correct and no I don't. ;)

PRIMAL RAGE is available on Nexflix in Widescreen and is completely uncut. Watched it earlier and it was sadly rather boring.

I think you may have expected too much Pete... ;)
I had the Simonetti soundtrack for years before I was able to watch the film.
It's ok for a late 80's cheesy Italian "horror" imho but not really that good, the "skeletons" and the Halloween party are probably my favourite parts.

Btw I think the CR dvd is the only uncut dvd release?

Yeah, I did have unrealistically high expectations for it. It had some decent moments but I felt it was too talky. Also, I had to laugh during the halloween party when that guy has the skin pulled off his hand and he didn't even scream and nobody noticing someone being hanged in the middle of the room.

Lenzi wrote the screenplay and maybe they should have let him direct.

I believe so - but I think there is a new Italian edition which may or may not be uncut.

bdc 13th September 2012 07:56 PM

Probably would have been better with Lenzi as director I guess.

He was either starting on NIGHTMARE BEACH (which also features a theme song by the "Kirsten", as well as another live performance of "Say the Word"); that, or the producers got Carlo Rambaldi and son on the effects by hiring his other son as a director.
