"...But oh no, that's not all...not by a long shot because...there's still two secret titles to hold out excitement for. Said Secret Titles will be revealed the moment the sale goes live. And as much as we know you're dying to learn what they are, we think they're worth the wait, especially as one of them includes some of the best prosthetic and gore work of its ilk, while the other is an eye popping, 80s cable classic. In the midst of the excitement, don't forget that two more VSAs will be making their debuts; both psychotic 'action' films, one in the loosest sense of the word, and perhaps the most demented film we're releasing this year. Oh, and we've also got four more Catalog Slipcovers in the works. Venturing outside of the VS multiverse, six (!) of our Partner Labels also have fresh titles that will be revealed and up for pre-order TOMORROW (May 1) at 12:01PM, EST. It's a very diverse selection covering everything from grimy 80s action to 60s art films to contemporary sci-fi. As always, something for everyone."

Circle Collective released through Vinegar Syndrome 'Donny's Bar Mitzvah' (2021) - Pre-order available from Vinegar Syndrome direct Shipping before Halfway to Black Friday sale (May 28th-31st) "This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Sister Hyde) is limited to 1,200 units and is only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com! Circle Collective formed in June 2019 in order to provide a new avenue for and community around creative distribution as an artist-forward, feature film marketing and distribution consulting agency. In partnership with OCN, Circle Collective will begin to release contemporary indie cinema across a variety of genres and origins onto physical media, maintaining the same artist-forward perspective as in their theatrical campaigns. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line! Sex, drugs, and a dysfunctional family create the perfect storm for Donny Drucker’s Bar Mitzvah. We are catapulted back in time to the year 1998 as we follow a colorful array of characters from the perspective of a hired videographer. Donny tries to enjoy the evening while juggling his crazy mother, his teenage angst, and his new girlfriend Handjob Hannah. Meanwhile Gearld, the MC of the party, is on a mission to stop the notorious party pooper Val Dho who is attempting to ruin the party. All that, plus: scandalous affairs, love triangles, spin the bottle, and a man with ranch dressing for hands. But as per tradition, all must be resolved before the big song at the end of the night. Framed as a found footage home movie and shot entirely in 4x3 to look just like your home movies from the 90s, Donny's Bar Mitzvah is a wild and raunchy coming of age comedy that mixes the familiar with the absurd, including cameos from Danny Trejo and Waldo himself. Not for the faint of heart or easily offended, see the film that The New York Times calls "horny" and has been met with confusion and derision from your local rabbi." Special features and Specs:

Fun City Editions released through Vinegar Syndrome 'Walking The Edge' (1983) - Pre-order available from Vinegar Syndrome direct Shipping before Halfway to Black Friday sale (May 28th-31st) "This special limited edition embossed slipcover is limited to 2,500 units and is only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com! Fun City Editions is a new boutique label focused on creating deluxe home video editions of maverick repertory cinema that can best be described as works that exist "outside of their time." Spanning an array of genres and countries, but with a unifying focus on forgotten and overlooked treasures, the initial wave of titles will come from the New American Cinema. Each Fun City release will present stunning new restorations produced and overseen by Vinegar Syndrome and comprehensive extras which contextualize and illuminate the film's artistic and historic value. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line! Cult movie icons Robert Forster (Medium Cool) and Joe Spinell (Maniac) star with Nancy Kwan (Flower Drum Song) in Norbert Meisel’s gritty action drama Walking the Edge. Jason Walk (Forster), a down on his luck cabbie and numbers runner, has a chance at redemption when he crosses paths with revenge-seeking Christine Holloway (Kwan). She’s after the gang of violent criminals, led by Brusstar (Spinell), who her murdered her husband and son. Jason unwittingly drives Christine to their lair and when she is unable to finish the job, a hellbent Brusstar and his goons hunt the pair with a vengeance. Jason Walk’s cab prowls the seedier, grimier locales of early ‘80s Los Angeles and picks up passengers—gamblers, prostitutes and addicts—who match this environment. As such, Walking the Edge is both a sleazy urban thriller and a valuable visual record of an L.A. that has long since been scrubbed clean and redeveloped. And like Max Cherry in Jackie Brown, Jason Walk is the kind of everyman-turned hero that Forster excelled at playing throughout his career. With Edge, director Meisel (Mafia Girls) teamed with his wife Kwan for the first time. Screenwriter Curt Allen’s subsequent credits include Forster’s cult favorite Hollywood Harry. Genre veteran Jay Chattaway (Maniac and Vigilante) provides the film with a driving and catchy score. The leads are supported by a diverse cast that includes A Martinez (Powwow Highway), Luis Contreras (Repo Man), Aarika Wells (Sharky’s Machine) and Frankie Hill (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter). Walking the Edge has been restored in 4K from its original camera negative and now makes it worldwide Blu-ray debut." Special features and Specs:

That’s what makes it thrilling.” — Martha Cooper In 1970s New York, trailblazing street photographer Martha Cooper captured some of the first images of graffiti at a time when the city had declared war on it. Vinegar syndrome are amazing, but I buy most of their titles on ebay paying scalper prices. Can anyone advise on... 1. Ordering from them direct: do they deliver quickly/ do customs tear apart the packages? Does the exchange rate make it worthwhile? Basically, is it worth doing? If so, how many discs is it worth getting at once? 2. What's the deal with their upcoming sale? Is everything 50% off? 3. Does anyone ever buy their monthly package? It seems like a fun way to collect. Opinions welcome! I wish they'd open a UK distribution arm. Their releases are totally unique. |
