A Clockwork Orange Stanley Kubrick 1971

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.
Best film ever made?
It certainly one of them IMO.
Controversial,ultra-violent and Beethoven.
Where did you all first see this masterpiece?
Anyone lucky enough to see it on original release? On the big screen?
What do you think about the controversy surrounding it?
Oh and btw,if you're A Clockwork Orange nut like myself, then post us a pic of your memorabilia collection etc.....mine will follow shortly.....;)

First time I saw Clockwork Orange was on TV back when I was in school and I gotta say that the first time I watched it I really didn't think much to it. Can't understand why now though, I've watched it loads of times since and I'm a big fan of it now, I'd definatley consider it a masterpiece, truly excellent film and really original.

I own a few different copies of it ( A video and a couple of different dvd's), the only other thing is a poster which is up in my film room. Dosen't really classify as a collection :(, looking forward to seeing yours though Reaper (especially after seeing your Wicker man collection )

Sorry but I voted b. Didn't do anything for me at all.

I voted B as well; way overrated me reckons!

I can see why people admire it, but it was a little too boring for me. Can't fault the acting though!

Clockwork Orange is my favourtie film. Absolutely amazing. It's visually so impressive and for me everything works so well.

Terrific music score and excellent McDowell performance as always, but I found it laboured and outright dull at times. For me it's a good film rather than a great one.

its slow and boring till he goes to jail then it gets worse

I do love A Clockwork Orange although I had to watch it a few times before I truly appreciated it. I tried to read the book once but couldn't hack it.

I'm with Sarah here,it took me a couple of watches to really appreciate it.Unfortunately alot of people will only give it one chance. It was the same with The Shining which I found utterly boring as a 12 year old. However now I regard it as Kubrick's best film & one of the finest horror films made too.

Ooohhh split decision here.....McDowell's performance is a tour de force...I also find it highly amusing in places.....
