The BBFC will only reject a film if it contains wall to wall objectionable material. Sounds to me that Serbian Film is quite cuttable. The distributor will know only too well that the BBFC will cut...

MoJo,

In films like Saw and Hostel, violent as they are, there is no sexual violence and very little in the way of sexualised violence, this is in contrast to what happens in Grotesque. Also in...

Actually I'm surprised the BBFC didn't cite the OPA when rejecting Grotesque because it definitely sounds like it would fall foul of this law ("corrupt and deprave").

I think the fact that the BBFC pass 99% of films that come their way uncut means that they have very little concern about violence. In fact violence is no longer cut and only a certain type of sexual...

The BBFC have to classify in accordance with UK law when making their decisions so that means a work that may fall foul of the OPA is likely to be cut or rejected. The BBF take their advice from the...

They could have passed it if they felt it was worth doing so but with the cuts having to be so extensive it would have been pointless. Indeed people would have said with cuts like that they may as...

It will be interesting to see if the film really wasn't cuttable as the BBFC claim.

The distributor would be wasting their time appealing. As the BBFC have said if the cuts are going be very...
