From what I've heard there could be huge fines if a company deliberately puts out an uncut version when it is supposed to be cut as that would be illegal. Have to say I have never heard of anyone...

I often buy cut versions of films just to see what the cuts are or sometimes I might buy cut UK versions just in case they have been released uncut by mistake eg recent purchase was The Soldier....
