I hadn't considered that possibility because I'd always assumed Tyrion would do it! It does make it more fitting for Jaimie to get revenge for all the crap she's put him through and for discarding him like empty crisp packet when she found another love interest.

Rik 29th August 2017 08:16 PM

That's just one of my many theories for next season, I'm not alone in thinking it too apparently.
Another one is that Tyrian is actually a Targaryen, remember Tywin saying "You're no son of mine" at one point

Dave Boy 29th August 2017 08:21 PM

I heard that about Tyrian as well.

This is my theory too, plus she couldn't kill Tyrion so why would she kill the brother she actually loves!

He is also very small and dark, not tall and blonde like the other Lannisters. It dawned on me this season that he may not actually be Cersei and Jaimie's brother. However, to him to not be a Lannister would require quite a story arc that I don't think they have time for that.

It would probably be revealed in the finale as a ****ing huge cliffhanger...as he's sat on the Iron Throne

Tyrion being the best character of the whole thing i would love to see that. Now the seasons finished i don't mind joining the thread. This has for me been by far the season so far. Not just the scope and effects on show but the script, the dialogue has been so sharp and often funny. Plus seeing characters meet that we have waited to see for for years.

Just saw this on Twitter...

#GameOfThrones director confirms the Night King's ice dragon still breathes fire

Well no shit, did we really need that confirmation since its fire breath melted the wall  FFS SMH etc etc

This is something I saw on Reddit yesterday, apparently the Army of Winterness (just made that name up  ) marched through the hole in the wall in a formation like the Direwolf Stark sigil, thus proving that Frozen Darth Maul is definitely a Stark. Not so sure myself

Here's a flipped image of said sigil for comparison

Justin101 30th August 2017 11:35 AM

I think people are reading too much into things

Although the Death King or whatever his name is, could quite possibly be a Stark, I don't doubt that for a moment.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 30th August 2017 11:52 AM

At this point, just about anything is possible. That is even more applicable to the army of the dead because, aside from how they were created, how they can be killed and how they share a common bond like a beehive (or a vampire with their progeny), so little is known about it.

Justin101 30th August 2017 11:57 AM

A hive mind is a perfect way to describe it I think!

That's much more concise. I threw in the vampire bit because that's what came to mind when it was revealed that if you kill a white walker, everyone they have 'turned' dies again, similar to killing a vampire and returning their progeny to human form.

Even though I knew what was going to happen and have seen the scene a few times, reading the "Red Wedding" chapter in Part 2 of A Storm of Swords was hard last night, such a powerful and heartbreaking moment (and ever so slightly different in the book) :(

I can't remember specifically how it's different in the book but I do recall thinking that the TV version was slightly sanitised in comparison which when you think about how brutal that scene is will tell you what I thought about the written chapter.

Mainly the absence of King Robb's wife (Jeyne Westerling in the book, Talisa in the show) and the line spoken by Roose Bolton "Jaime Lannister sends his regards" vs "The Lannisters send their regards".
After I'd read that chapter last night, I watched the full scene on YouTube and then a couple of reaction vids too, one of which showed a young women in hysterics while watching it, I've no doubt she thoroughly enjoyed (and possibly cheered) during the Purple Wedding, I know I did

All in all ... a decent watch

Now where's the bloody book George?? ;)

PS Speaking of toning things down for tv ... Joffrey takes about two pages to die (in AGONY :laugh:) in the book. He got off way too lightly imho on telly. :nono:

I can't help but think he doesn't know how to finish it, his manuscript deadline was December 2016 and the excuses keep coming, and now he's publishing a spin-off book

By the time that the TV series finishes next spring, I don't think people will care about the book not being out anymore.

Earlier this year we found out that our beloved*Game of Thrones*wouldn't be returning to screens until 2019, which feels like a really, really, really long time away.*

But it's not all doom and gloom, because apparently with the final season will now come with booze - Scotch whisky, to be exact, which will be released by Johnnie Walker to celebrate the last series of the fantasy hit.

Johnnie Walker broke the news of the 'White Walker' whisky on social media, posting a mysterious 20-second video.

The whisky brand simply teased: "Scotch is coming to the realm this Fall - White Walker by Johnnie Walker."

A fan commented on the Facebook post asking if the whisky would be a new blend or a re-label, but Johnnie Walker didn't fancy giving too much away, replying: "We're excited to be partnering with HBO on White Walker by Johnnie Walker, which will launch this fall. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!"

It didn't seem to matter to most people, though, with many people commenting excitedly to say that they'd be up for it either way.

On fan wrote: "If this is real, I'm buying a bottle! I don't drink, but I will add it to my*GoTcollection!"

Another said: "Two best things combined - alcohol and*Game of Thrones!"

via GIPHY

"I need this in my life," another person said, while someone else wrote: "I need this just to have it..."

According to*Winter Is Coming, Johnnie Walker is planning to release the Scotch in the autumn before the show airs - which is currently rumoured to begin at some point in spring next year.

There's more good news, too, as we recently found out that the ridiculously long wait for the final season isn't without good reason.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, HBO boss Casey Bloys said the delay was due to the increased length of episodes, the quality of the special effects and CGI - oh, and the fact that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are nothing short of perfectionists.

"Here's what I'll tell you: they take the time they need to do the show at its highest level of quality. As the show has gone on, it's gotten bigger - big battle scenes, big special effects," Bloys said.

"These things take time. Here's the one thing I can assure you: Dan and Dave were not sitting around on a beach waiting to go back to work. They're perfectionists and this is the soonest it can come back at a level of quality that they are comfortable with."

The TV exec also spoke about the*Game of Thrones*prequels currently being worked on at HBO, saying 'they're moving along' but revealing little else.

"We have some really talented writers working on them," he explained. "The one thing I will tell you, which we talked about before, any sort of pilot-to-series [order], there's not going to be anything on our air for a least a year after Game of Thrones airs.

"We're not using the final season to launch a new show or anything like that. There's going to be a separation between the two. These are among the best writers working and I'm hopeful."

I thought they were all going to be feature length! However all we're getting is an extra 80 minutes. Still going to be great but not what they made out when they delayed the final season to make it more epic.

Rik 15th March 2019 05:07 PM

Yeah, I thought each episode was meant to be 90 minutes. Still can’t wait though

I can't wait for season 8 I spoilt myself I only started watching Game of Thrones after season 6 was already aired so I had 6 seasons to work through before 7 came out. After binging through so much of it this wait has been painful to say the least.

That's exactly what I did, I was proper late to the party and managed to binge watch seasons 1-6 twice before 7 aired, so I was annoyed about having to wait a week between episodes
