Good news indeed!
I've ordered from this mob as well.-Superb service.

I'd still rather see it in a yellow box though....

Two covers....what's the best?

Splatterdragon73 21st November 2009 10:52 AM

The design on the right does it for me although the left variant certainly isn't bad.

However, the 'cabin' cover gives you the impression the film's antagonist is an axe wielding maniac whereas the 'face' equivalent is a more accurate representation of the movie's main menace imo.
Even if the illustration on this cover resembles a werewolf more than a bigfoot!

Peter Neal 21st November 2009 08:47 PM

The cover with the cabin is meant to build a certain "Evil Dead" connection, as "Night of the Demon" was marketed as "Der Teufel tanzt weiter" ("The Devil Keeps on Dancing") for its German release to capitalize on the success of "The Evil Dead", which is known to German fans as "Tanz der Teufel" ("Dance of the Devils"):der:
Both movies are still banned to this day in Germany, but German fans surely do appreciate what the Austiran market has to offer....:loco:

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 21st November 2009 09:08 PM

I think I'll be picking this up too. I agree with Splatter and have to say that I think the cover on the right is better.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 22nd November 2009 05:47 AM

Cabin for me....

Same here.

Splatterdragon73 22nd November 2009 09:34 AM

I think if the cabin cover had hairy hands with claws instead of human hands with an axe hovering over the living quarters then this design would be more appropriate imo. But each to their own.:)

I can think of a Reapermeister who would be pleased with that.

antmumford 28th January 2010 12:10 PM

I've heard a serious amount of Night Of The Demon mentioned in this forum.
Is it really that good? If so how would I go about getting a copy? Is there a particular version I should be seeing?

Is it a different film to Night of the Demons which I've found online as part of a trilogy of films?

Sorry but I'm new to these cult horror films. I've got a lot of catching up to do

No connection to the Night Of The Demons films. It's the 1980 one-time video nasty that hasn't seen a UK release since the Vipco DVD (which featured the heavily cut video print). It would have no censorship problems today and has been shown on Zone Horror intact.

Is it good? No, it's awful - but it's awful fun.

Thanks for the honesty, if it get's released by Shameless then I'll have to get it for the collection. If not then I think I'll leave this one for now then. Cheers!

vincenzo 28th January 2010 01:12 PM

It's similar to Don't Go In The Woods. Only with a Bigfoot instead of a beardy-weirdy.

Don't go in the woods, is it any good?
I have a friend that wants to sell me this movie!
It's the german uncut version on dvd!
I have red other reviews from others saying this movie storyplot sux!
But it's goory like hell!
Does it have graphic violence?

So is it any good?
Can it be compared to the Burning?
Me like The Burning!!
Thanks

vincenzo 28th January 2010 03:40 PM

Don't Go In The Woods is one of the most hilariously awful films on the video nasty list. The violence is cartoonish and far from bloody, and is rightly rated 15 in the UK (the UK DVD is also uncut).

Not a patch on The Burning in terms of horror but definitely good for a few laughs.

Almar@Cult Labs 28th January 2010 03:40 PM

Eh we need to move extensive Night of the Demon chat to the appropriate thread please - just follow Reaper!

Hopefully not another setback.:(

I think Rituals must be cursed, unfortunately Reaps as the same thing happened to me. As for Night of the Demon, it's supposed to be slated for this year, along with Mardi Gras Massacre and Nightmares in a Damaged Brain. Here's hoping that these are released as planned...

I hope so too as I haven't seen Mardi Gras Massacre and really want to remedy that by watching it on a quality new DVD.
