How about Night Of The Demon (one of the official DPP 39).

The 1992 Vipco video was heavily cut (1 min 41 secs). If they had resubmitted the full version in 2001/2 it would have passed uncut without problems. Alas they simply re-released the cut one.

This would be a real winner for Shameless as this doesn't seem to be available uncut anywhere at the moment.

Yeah, it would be nice to see this one out there uncut. Only ever seen the old cut Vipco version but i thought it was a hoot. Especially that scene where the poor guy in the sleeping bag gets swung around the monsters head. :D

Is there any news on the rights to Vipco titles, now they've (deservedly) gone under? If it's up for grabs, than this is a must. THere's a fair few other good titles in Vipco's hands in need to a decent release as well.

VIPCO have the rights to some cracking titles including Night of the DEMON that i'd love to see released in a quality print.

This would have passed uncut in 2001 had Vipco submitted the uncut print rather than re-releasing the cut 1994 print (they did the same with Pranks). :(

There's a pretty big demand for this title at the moment as it isn't legally available anywhere in it's complete form.

Night of the Demon would sell very well if it was re-released in the UK and would definitely pass uncut.
I think the version of Pranks that VIPCO released here was the cut 'R' American release. They should have submitted an uncut version as I dont think the bbfc would have had any problems passing it.

The version of Pranks released by Vipco in 1992 was cut by 10 secs by the BBFC (the drill murder). Alas the version they released on DVD in 2001 was the same print. The full version would definitely have been passed if they'd submitted it.

Apparently the U.S DVD is exactly the same print as the cut U.K one (to the point where it's probably a bootleg release, even down to the Vipco skulls on the cover).

I am a member of another horror site and have been posting Shameless's releases and while most weren't that fussed on buying UK releases , nearly all would buy Night of the Demon if it came out in the UK uncut.

The film itself is absolutely ludicrous in parts but it's picked up quite a cult following. Amateurish to say the least though once it's on you can't take your eyes off it. http://shameless-films.com/forums/im...es/biggrin.gif

The double stabbing of the 2 girls and the cyclist's tallywhacker being ripped off are just unforgettable.

I thought the cabin massacre at the end was a highlight, especially the way it was filmed in slow motion.

Definitely. There's giblets asunder in that scene. :)

It's slightly better (and more serious - ish) than Don't Go In The Woods but they're both as daft as each other. The UK DVD of DGITW is a superb extras-crammed release, considering the film is so abysmal.

Very hard to say really. Hopefully it will but I thought it would have been released long before now. Zone Horror showed it fully uncut though the quality was pretty much VHS standard.

However bring it on with Night of the Demon harrassment as I'll pass it right on. I'm already on the case but of course if lots and lots of people start to ask well it's all fuel to the fire so bring it on! If we get it you can all help with the sleeve and so on!

Wow I didn't know that, Reaper. I haven't seen this version but I was told it was a direct port of the cut Vipco release (minus the head drilling).

I love how the anthropologist relates mysterious events that have happened in the exacts spots where they have stopped - with gory flashbacks attributing the incidents to the beast - and then he says "Okay, let's get some sleep now."

Thinking of this, it's somewhat amazing how some censors completely seem to miss out on the humour (intentional or not:D) these flicks provided.:p

Well, nowadays I'd assume they're a lot more open to regard our faved cheapo exploiters for what they are...at least in the case of the BBFC.

Can't say I was ever that impressed by Night of the Demon. I did feel quite lucky to come across the Iver pre cert in the local Exchange and Mart when the film was otherwise unavailable. I imagine it would sail past the BBFC now though, and would be a good item for Shameless to pick up.

Yes the original BBFC cuts list was pretty heavy but it would fly through now.

I don't know anything about this film aside from the description in Art of the Nasty, but I might buy it, I got it confused with Night of the Demons earlier
