It's really no surprise you fall asleep! If I began watching one of my all-time favourite films at that time, I'd really struggle to make it through to the end credits without dozing off.

Got round to watching Fearless Vampire Killers this evening.

Its absolutely dreadfull. I know comedy is a very personal taste, but this was just not funny, not even amusing. Jack Macgowran seemed to be doing a terrible impersonation of Peter Cushing in the Dalek films, that was when you could tell what he was saying of course.

The only time i even smiled was at Sharon Tate's scenes. Worse still, it wasn't even remotely scary, not even Hammer scary.

I am certainly not anti Polanski, i love many of his films, even the less celebrated ones such as Bitter Moon and Frantic. The Ghost Writer was probably my favourite thriller from last year.

I was so unimpressed i doubt very much i will ever watch it again.

At least you gave it a shot, Dem.

I've never really seen it as a 'comedy' (although it is billed as such).

I've been in the same position a few times when watching films. All my favourite ingredients are there, but the film just doesn't cut it for me. Shaun of Dead being a prime example; can't stand it.

More often than not the films in question tend to be classics in other peoples eyes.

Seen Shaun around 6 times i think.

I love Shaun of the Dead but there are other horror-comedies I can't get away with. I can't think of any at the moment, but I'll probably think of some in the early hours of the morning!

It's not a comedy, it's a parody - a parody of Vampire films. Slight but important difference. And whilst it may not contain the big laughs of a real comedy, it's still one of the funniest flicks of all time.

I watch The Fearless Vampire Killers every year, as soon as winter arrives with a bucket of snow.

There are so many hilarious scenes - I wouldn't know where to start. Just my three favourites:
1) Abronsius, stuck and frozen after an attempt to enter the vampires' sleeping place.
2) Rebecca Shagal's screaming fit after the delivery of her husband's dead body.
3) Yoine Shagal's fantastic one-liner: "Oy vey, have you got the wrong vampire."

Just thinking of these scenes makes me giggle. I really feel sorry for those who cannot see this film's pure humorous genius. You're missing something.

Greetings!

That's how I feel about TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD.

I'm with you on this one. I thought that Hot Fuzz was a much better film all round and you can't say that it doesn't have it's gory bits!
