an excellent episode. reminiscent of the monsters are due on maple street. a really good story. you might spot the ending before it comes but it's still powerful stuff. really good acting from a larger than normal cast. a really strong episode. it captures everything that is good about the twilight zone but actually is one of the only episodes that I've personally ever seen that doesn't have anything mystical or twilight zoney about it!

This for me is the most powerful episode I've seen, probably because I saw it in the 1980s, when we were all convinced that Thatcher and Reagan were going to lead us into a real nuclear war. the way they turn on each other so readily is just terrifying.

The Simpsons parodied this episode brilliantly, when everyone crams into Ned Flanders' shelter, and they vote on who has to be kicked out because there isn't enough room, and it ends up being Neddie himself!

Just caught this again on the blu after some years. Great great episode.

Superior to Maple Street in the fact that the initial escalation is a bit more believable I think, because there's a real threat there, wherea Maple St had to make a bit of a jump to start things off.

I imagine it must have been a right laugh around that street for a while after!

Awesome episode! The Twilight Zone sure knows how to deliver the goods with the stories that revolve around Paranoia (along with Maple Street and Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up).
it'smebilly likes this.

This is TZ at it's best. Brilliant paranoia. Good to see Charlie's grandad out of Willie Wonka too.
