Just watched it and IMHO it looked fantastic, grain appeared intact with no artefacts i could see, colours looking great. The 2012 restoration of the Japanese footage looked like it had always been there and considering the state it was in is a remarkable achievement (watch the extras regarding how they did it) and i challenge anyone to see where it was inserted.
Hammer have taken a lot of stick recently but seem to have pulled out all the stops on this one, yes it is not demo quality but i think it is the best it will ever look or sound and well worth every penny for this Blu Ray release.

Totally agree tele! Having seen the BFI restoration a couple of years ago at the cinema, I opted for the 2012 Hammer restoration - and it looks superb. This is no Curse Of Frankenstein controversy / disappointment, this is the real deal.

Oh and just in case anyone's in any doubt, Christopher Lee IS Dracula!

Totally agree there will only ever be one Dracula and that's Christopher Lee.

As far as I'm concerned, Max Schreck was the best Dracula, albeit playing a character called Count Orlock but, given my username, that's probably a predictable statement!

I could never understand why people rated Lugosi just found him to be a very bad hammy actor, I'm one of those strange people who thought the Spanish version was a lot better

Mine arrived this morning. Picture is good. Obviously the inserts from the Japanese version aren't as good, but that's to be expected. Haven't watched the extra's yet though.
