Read 'Interview with the Vampire' wasn't that impressed really, tried 'The Vampire Lestat' which bored me to the point that I couldn't finish it. I've since read Rice's 'Mummy' novel which wasn't too bad.

I enjoy BSD as campy, indulgent grand guinol spectacle. Like how I enjoy Ridley Scott's Hannibal. Lush, beatifully scored, and silly as hell ...

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) is my favorite vampire flick. But I didn't care for Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins or Keanu Reeves. |

Can't bear it. Saw it at the flicks when it first came out and thought it was kind of OK, but subsequent viewings saw what little good there was leach away in my consideration. Just gets worse with each viewing. Gutted a man of Coppola's talents could make such a disaster, with such an awful cast (Tom Waits excepted, he's rather good and ideally cast). |
