What's the point of re-making Total Recall and Robocop? Nothing could improve what went before with both those new re-makes, oops!, I mean re-imaginings. But obviously the executives think other wise. Maybe when Spielberg dies, Jaws probably will be re-made. It wouldn't suprise me. I certainly don't want to see JAWS re-made.

Agreed.

I don't know if you remember, but quite sometime ago Peter Jackson was linked to a re-make of The Dambusters. Now we have The Magnificent Seven coming up, and many people I remember on a forum I use to be on said that it was absolute sacrilege to even think of the notion that The Magnificent Seven could be re-made, oops!, I mean re-imaginined by Hollywood and corp executives.

Now look!

JAWS can't be far behind.

The thing is odd remake here and there ok, got to remember invasion of body snatchers, thing, scarface are remakes, i dont mind odd one here and there i thought new death race was a welcome for few reasons. Original now looks dated, cheesy, corny, etc where new remake even put there own spin on it and even altered the story as well where its prisoner's fighting for there freedom, the real problems lies with fact that we being bombarded with remakes left right and centre, and half the film industry is pratically remake and there is no need to remake almost every film in existence. 90%+ remakes are totaly pointless and shit. What was the point of psycho remake of scene by scene ill never know,
And half the world cinema foreign j horror are on the remake list before they even been out a full year, its sad and pathetic
Once in a while a remake comes along that divide films fans eg maniac, now thats how a remake should be remade, some fans even think its better than the original
Only good thing is it bring attention to the original, but at same time people who enjoy the remake then watch the original and complain the remake better :crying::confused: some people you just cant educate
Its sad makes you want to cry. If they actualy put some heart and soul into the remake then it wouldnt be as bad, but it just get the hollywood treatment that hollywood only knows, it need to change its format on remaking films and forget the big budget, cgi, big names, and thin on plot and souless attitude, after all how many j horrors are fantastic and they dont have any of that crap and palava
But some films should never be touched and left alone, suspiria and videodrome are just two eg.. Because only person who can remake these type of films are the original directors.
