I haven't seen it myself so I can't really comment on it. | Chris, A Serbian Film is not just the worst film I've seen this year but one of the most boring and stupid pieces of sh1t I've ever come across. My review: A Serbian Film Review - Total Sci-Fi
I know I am going against my own theory of "if you ignore it, it will go away" but honestly if you ignore it, it will go away. Having met the director in Cannes, at a champagne bash no less, I can tell you he is LOVING this attention. Oh sure, in interviews he'll try and say this is a film about Serbia etc but if you want to learn about Serbia you won't learn a damn thing from this film. This is a long, desperate cry for attention - which is what any halfwit who films a baby being raped wants. Let's see some of the money the people behind this are oh so happy to be making donated to victims of sexual abuse whom this film is so happy to exploit for a few pennies (or those who suffered in the war - whom this guy clearly cares so much about).
And no the BBFC won't pass it uncut but the job has already been done and the mug has gotten his 15 minutes of fame. Depressing.
Human Centipede is a better movie, though - albeit with some bad acting and not much going on. It's still fairly gripping though. I found it hard to turn away and definitely wanted to see how it was going to conclude. With A Serbian Film I wanted to fast-wind. |
