The Killing Machine is a great martial arts film and a great exploitation film. I agree that Karate Bear Fighter, Karate Bull Fighter and Karate For Life are great films as well, and the now out-of-print BCI box set is a great purchase.

Right, I'm ready for the backlash.....
I'm just going to say it quickly and get it over and done with.....
I didn't like The Streetfighter

It was the first Sonny Chiba I rented after all the suggestions from you guys and I happily put it on. I just didn't enjoy it, Sonny Chiba's character was just really horrible and irritating and the fighting was just so meh! I got so bored so quickly and turned it off after an hour in. All his stupid noises and grunts and muscle clenching got a bit too much for me.

I'll give Sonny another go at some point though, I don't give up that easily.
What's the next best one for me to try?

I suppose Chiba is something of an acquired taste when compared to the likes of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Also, there's no denying the Japanese action choreography was inferior to the Hong Kong standard of the time and still is nowadays imo. But i do like Chiba and his Streetfighter character purely because he's such a ruthless badass who hits first and asks questions later.

Well all the eye gouging and smashed skulls, it can definitely be an acquired taste. I loved the first two Streetfighter movies. Last Revenge felt a bit too much like it was Terry Bond. But they are cool and gritty films

I got the Sister Street fighter collection recently. If you are a Chiba fan you should have this already. SC appears in the first movie of the collection.
