Just to kinda echo what Vip's was saying there, I've been in and out of that same HMV a few times now looking for Le Orme, with no joy of course, and I've scoured every bloody inch of every section! They're usually fairly on top of Shameless releases (save for Dirty Pictures, which took a while and ended up, quite rightly, in the World Cinema section) but Le Orme is looking like a no-show at the minute.

As far as this promotion is concerned, I guess that if I take a few of the full price titles to the counter they'll show up at £6? If they don't, I may start a little riot.

Tell me Almar, was there POS sent out for the promotion? I can't imagine it would matter for our particular HMV over here, there's an Optimum promo going on which consists of one promo banner and bugger all titles to chose from.

As far as I'm aware SHAM001-018 should be on sale for £6 in HMV but it doesn't sound like they're re-pricing the DVDs. As for Point of Sale stuff you don't get to display anything in any chain store these days unless you pay for the space or offer some crazy deal.

They had WHTDTYD & NY Ripper for 6 quid , the rest including Baba Yaga, ( 1st time i'd seen it in stock) were the standard £13.99 , and there wasn't a large selection, 5 £13.99 titles and 2 £6 titles, with only 1 or 2 of each, except for Frightened Woman , so I picked NY Ripper for a 'back up 2nd disc' as i've already lost 1 Shameless to a mate who says he give it back but did'nt.
I also am abit OCD ish about certain films as the same mate, vhs era, same story , only it was HBTEOTP and i've never been able to get an uncut replacement to this day on dvd or vhs.

Anyhow with about 6 assistance's behind the counter and no que I hobbled up but after a short wait and an 'Excuse me', I was told " Sorry mate, stock " , and he pointed to large boxes and boxes of DVD's. Fair enough, not his fault.

I waited till another was free and asked them but got the same reply. 10 mins later and still no joy,
I said 'Excuse me',to the next free staff, a girl, telling her that i've the correct change in cash, and the DVD's factory sealed, so could you please take the sale, 'I dont need or want a reciet' , but alas , back came the " Sorry , im on stock, and i've no card for the till.

I left as did the guy behind, no film, just my £ in my hand , with my foot aching from standing on it for 10 mins.
Ok my sale was only 6 quid , but a sales a sale imho , and while the staff doing Stock had no till cards, there should have been at least 1 member of staff who had everything nessary to take my cash.
Very Dissapointing.!

I'd shop somewhere else if I could, but I cant, as hmv are the only DVD/BluRay specialist store on the highstreet.
Maybe if they still had rivials they would be more customer friendly.
Ah well, theres alwas tomorrow.(Friday)
That was Monday or Tuesday this week.

I will say this for them though, their Horror section is slightly bigger but thats to house what must be every version known to man of films like SAW , Hostel, Final Destination, Scream etc. some in boxes with saws, puzzles.and mini puppets etc on them..

That's very disappointing - I don't think you should ever keep anyone waiting who has cash to hand over - especially in this economic climate!

I think it's worth sending that on to their customer services department.

As Almar said Vip's,you should inform their Customer services dept.-That's ridiculous!
They obviously need a cattle prod to the head!

I asked for some shameless titles in my local hmv and first I was given the Shameless boxset so I explained they are a label and gave some titles. None of which came up on the computer.

HMV are getting lazy, there's no doubt. As vips mentioned above they don't even need to bother trying anymore, now that they haven't any rivals. As a consequence of this I probably haven't bought a DVD in a shop for well over a year now!

I'm just waiting for loops to get his store up an running to take on the might of HMV... Next stop: chain-stores, loops?!
