I would love to see The Beyond in high definition as there many scenes that would really benefit from the extra detail. Just think of that foaming blood, the zombies and the sewers all with vibrant colours and high detail levels in the darker scenes. It would blow DVD out of the water even with the (I imagine) fairly low quality stock -- that is, compared to modern-day blockbusters that are only three months out of the cinema.

Totally agree.

That 'wasteland' ending would be......

Oh yeah, if that were properly scrubbed up, it would look amazing and really add to the overall experience.

You tell me!

I probably don't think so as i don't buy two copies of every DVD release i own. That would be rather overdoing it even for me!

No, it's just those titles i like to think will achieve collectable, investible, rare or valuable status in years to come. I did the same thing with the majority of pre-Starz ABUK and HKL output. When the fortunes of these two once great companies took a nosedive it was then i was glad i snapped up two copies of their most popular DVDs as the releases in question now go for sizeable sums of money online.

To me it's something of a game of trying to anticipate which editions will be around for years and which ones my come and go quickly becoming much sought after titles. We all know major studio stuff goes the distance but you can't always say the same of indie label releases. I tend to observe the successes of the latter rather than the former.

No firm date yet. We've not even started editing the extras yet (all the Argento stuff is before that) but we're trying to give folks such an amazing package that even if they have the Grindhouse DVD they'll want to double dip on this one!

As it is a BD (which I presume it is), I can easily justify the expenditure by saying it isn't a double-dip, it's an 'upgrade'!

I'd love to see a Blu-Ray of The Beyond. It's easily my favourite Fulci movie. I've been very impressed with Arrow Film's approach to these movies and I expect that any release of The Beyond will be well worth the money.
