Spot on! Although I do have a soft(?) spot for Katie Cassidy;

For the most part, I much prefer watching the older, original movie against the polished, vapid remakes that get churned out on some remake production line. Every so often, a good one comes out like DOTD 2004 and The Crazies. They're worth having in my collection as opposed to avoiding at all costs like My Bloody Valentine. (although I admit to having this on my Sky HD harddrive because the wife wants to watch. Why? Jensen Ackles )

Yeah, it does seem as though the old ones are still the best.

Like you say we get a good remake here and there (I enjoyed the Dawn update and the recent revamp of TC looks good.).
But the majority of Hollywood horror overhauls just don't cut the mustard with us old school members. Too much emphasis on flashy, fast visuals and annoying teen leads.

I dread to think of how a remake of The Beyond would turn out. In the right hands we might possibly see something special. But go the other way and we may well have a disaster on our screens that would be an insult to dear 'ol Fulci.

It's funny you should mention that. I did an outline for a potential Beyond remake. I have to say that it stuck to the formula but did away with all the zombie aspects, making the things more spiritual and ghostly but no less dangerous and murderous. Don't throw things!

i wanted to convey the spirit of the piece before Fulci was forced to stick in the shufflers on behest of German financiers and distributors.

Judging from the amount of different version of The Beyond going on ebay periodically, I'd say that there's a market for a BR.

So folks - you voted, you campaigned, you have been heard... Arrow are now seriously considering a Blu-ray release for The Beyond - if materials pass muster it's on!

Spread the word folks - the job is not done because if the materials etc need a lot of work we'll still need proof it's worth it so keep people signing up to this thread.
