Watched my bluray last night. I did enjoy this film, but not as much as City of the Living dead or House by the Cemetery. I felt that the plot was thin and it jumped about alot. But I do like it thought and some of the effects were great This is a film which I will watch again(when I get my replacement disc)

Each to their own
and even Fulci said The Beyond was a film of images without a plot. But COTLD & HBTC hardly have great plots themselves!

Having watched them all again I actually prefer COTLD to The Beyond now, no idea why. They're both 9/10-10/10 though. As for HBTC, I find it borderline unwatchable.

I could really do with a Fulci marathon but, the last time I watched The House by the Cemetery, I really enjoyed it. It's not up there with The Beyond or City of the Living Dead, but it's good fun with some decent gore effects. Actually, I think The Psychic is criminally underrated.

My favourite giallo by Fulci is Duckling - then again I was raised a Catholic.
Seven Notes did make me realize how important Sergio Salvati could be for a Fulci film though.

I agree about the plots. I wasn't being negative, I was just comparing the Beyond to the other films in the trilogy. It is a great film, just not my favourite

It's all good
, liking one Fulci film more than another is no different to preferring strawberry ice cream instead of vanilla...or maybe it is, but you get the idea.

I'm not a huge fan of The Beyond, so much so I may not upgrade to Arrow's BD release of the film as the Grindhouse DVD does me fine.I do prefer it to House by the Cemetery though, which I feel is only saved by the scenes featuring Dr.Freudstein and De Rossi's gore FX.Zombie Flesh Eaters and City of the Living Dead are Fulci's best horror films imo, and bona fide classics of the genre.

Right it has taken me till now to get round to watch this! (work has been crazy).

This is the first time I have ever seen this film and I have to say I was blown away. I love the story. Yes it will be nice to see the right opening which I hope will come soon.

P/Q 9.5 out of 10
A/Q 10 out of 10
Film 10 out of 10

Bonus: 10 out of 10

Personally I think THE BEYOND is Fulci's best by some way...The use of the incredible music coupled with the cinematography and the Bayou/deep south setting create something pretty special which his other films can't match, imo.
