I think the only people who can judge how a film looks on BD/DVD are the filmmakers themselves.I take every BD/DVD review I read on the internet with a very large pinch of salt.If I think the film looks good I'm perfectly happy. If the release has been worked on/approved by the guys who originally shot the film, all the better!

I watched the disc with the black and white opening from start to finish on my 50" plasma last week. The PQ and AQ are great. I've owned copies on VHS and DVD, and this is definetly a big upgrade. I also recieved my corrected disc this week and took a quick look. It does look a bit better but I don't think it's a huge improvement, well minus that fact that the beginning is in the correct color. It's no Tron or Avatar but you can definetly tell that you are watching a blu-ray.

Good job on the extras too. I like the interview with the guy who released 7 Doors of Death in the states. You know he was just looking to make a buck off the film. I doubt he really thought it was a good movie.

A review by Total Film from their new weekly cult film's blog can be found here. It's very complimentary about the transfer.

Watched this over the weekend and thought it was terrific. The quality of the transfer is amazing and the extras are excellent - the interview with effects maestro Gianetto Di Rossi being a particular highlight.

Another superb package from Arrow

I have an old copy of Fangoria with an interview with his assistant at Aquarius Ron Harvey:

"Believe it or not, we actually improved Seven Doors by cutting out all the boring scenes."

On Zombie Holocaust or Doctor Butcher, M.D in their case:

"Overall, the picture did not do as well as we hoped, say of the magnitude of Halloween"

I got my Arrow SE DVD today, had no time to watch all the extras at once- but the SD DVD pq is superb, with some enhanced meaty sound effects giving the gore scenes- particularly the "melting face by acid in the morgue"- an extra punch
I even got a disc with the correct sepia opening
The "Q & A with Catriona McCall" was neat, even though it had a "special guest", the guy eating crisps...and then some more crisps
